Megastar Rajinikanth turned 73 today and ever since the day began, 'Thalaivar' has been receiving virtual birthday wishes from friends and fans. One of the first celebrities to wish the 'Jailer' actor was superstar Kamal Haasan, who recently met Rajinikanth in Chennai when they were shooting in studios next to each other. Kamal Haasan wrote on Twitter, "Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar @rajinikanth . I sincerely wish you to live a happy life reaping success today and forever.”

Talking of Rajinikanth, the actor is currently celebrating the success of 'Jailer', which has made more than Rs 500 crore worldwide.
Kalanithi Maran, the owner of Sun Pictures, had recently gifted luxury cars to superstar Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander for making 'Jailer' a blockbuster. Recently, a success meet was also held and gold coins were gifted to all the crew members who were associated with 'Jailer'.
In the upcoming Rajinikanth movie, tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 170', the megastar will be sharing the screen with Amitabh Bachchan.
For the unversed, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan have previously acted together in movies like 'Hum', 'Andhaa Kaanoon' and 'Geraftaar'.
'Hum' which released in 1991, was Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth's last collaboration.
