"I would hate for anyone to think I endorse this.. thank you for the backlash because of this pressure the filmmakers have luckily taken it down. I'd also request everyone to stop sharing the song because ur just giving it a platform unnecessarily," Nora Fatehi captioned the post.
"On a side note I see some of u guys trying to use this as an opportunity to attack my character… it’s unfortunate. Anyways me and my team will be more careful in the future in such situations. However I do want to reiterate I had no idea about this Hindi song, I did not perform to it and there was no permission taken to use it with my image," she added.
For the unversed, ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ featured Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt and it is a part of the upcoming Kannada film 'KD: The Devil'. The track continues to face criticism for vulgar lyrics and provocative visuals.
The song was originally written in Kannada by the film’s director, Prem. Lyricist Raqeeb Alam, who is credited for penning the lyrics for the Hindi version, has already distanced himself from the controversy, saying he had merely translated the original lyrics.
“I have not written these lyrics. They were written by the film’s director, Prem, in Kannada. When I was asked to write all this, I refused, saying such songs won’t work and will be censored too,” Alam was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
Earlier, BJP MPs Ravi Kishan and Kangana Ranaut had slammed the song for its vulgar content, saying there should be regulations brought in so that these things don't happen in the future. Singer Armaan Malik had also criticised the track.
