The NCW has taken suo moto cognizance of Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s comments about female actors.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo moto cognizance of Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s comments about female actors, especially Trisha Krishnan. For the unversed, Mansoor, who was part of Vijay and Trisha-starrer 'Leo', said that there was no "bedroom scene with Trisha" in the film like he had with many female actors in previous films. This particular comment has been condemned by many on social media, including 'Leo' director Lokesh Kanagaraj. 

In the latest entertainment news, National Commission for Women has also taken suo moto cognizance of the matter.

The official post of NCW states that they have directed Deputy General of Police to invoke IPC Section 509 B and other relevant laws against Mansoor.

"The National Commission for Women is deeply concerned about the derogatory remarks made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan towards actress Trisha Krishna. We're taking suo motu in this matter directing the DGP to invoke IPC Section 509 B and other relevant laws.Such remarks normalize violence against women and must be condemned," the official handle of NCW wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, Trisha Krishnan had also slammed her 'Leo' co-star Mansoor Ali Khan for speaking about her in a "vile and disgusting manner." 

"A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind," Trisha wrote on X.

Earlier, news agency ANI reported exactly what Mansoor Ali Khan had said at the event.

"When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule."

For the unversed, 'Leo' stars Trisha, Vijay, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja.

The new Tamil film had released in theatres on October 19, and the movie collected more than Rs 500 crore worldwide.
