Malavika Mohanan's Thailand Photo Dump: Inside Her Family Holiday. See Pics
Malavika Mohanan swapped the spotlight for some much-needed family time in Thailand, and the photo dump is everything.
Indian actress Malavika Mohanan has hit pause on a hectic year to do something simpler – travel slowly, with the people who matter most. The actress, who made her Telugu debut earlier this year opposite Prabhas in ‘The Raja Saab’, has shared a heartwarming photo dump from Chiang Mai, Thailand, and it is equal parts wanderlust and warmth. “The older I get the more I value trips like this,” she wrote, opening up about a few unhurried days spent in northern Thailand with her parents – cinematographer K.U. Mohanan and her mother, Beena Mohanan.
By her own admission, Chiang Mai caught her off guard: she confessed she had "absolutely no idea" the city was so pretty, before gushing about wandering through art markets, eating beautifully and soaking up quality time as a family.

The carousel served a love letter to the city. There were gilded, lantern-strung temples lined with rows of golden Buddhas, a dazzling all-silver shrine intricate enough to stop you mid-step, and a serene golden idol haloed in jade-green light. Architecture buffs – and her cinematographer father would approve – get plenty too, from a stately teak heritage villa framed by towering palms to a richly carved, lamp-lit lounge that looked straight out of a period film.
Then there was the food, and Malavika was refreshingly honest about it. She cheekily admitted that "40% of which was mango sticky rice" – and sure enough, the dump delivered, with a glistening plate of ripe mango over coconut sticky rice and a crisp green-mango salad plated on blue-and-white willow china. Another frame caught her mid-meal, beaming over a fragrant bowl of curry.
The family moments were the real heart of it. One photo had all three of them tucked onto a curtained daybed under a sprawling tree; another saw Malavika playfully pinching her mother's cheek on a sunlit deck. There were candid bench shots of her parents in easy conversation, a group selfie on a sloping hill-village lane, and a sweet still of her dad browsing a souvenir stall.
Style, as always, was effortless. Malavika rotated through a sunny yellow top with a flowing wine-red skirt, breezy olive trousers layered under a multicoloured checked overshirt, and a printed blue mini – all relaxed, all holiday-appropriate. The post has already racked up over 113k likes, with actress Keerthy Suresh among those double-tapping.
For a star who's spent recent months in promotion mode, this slowed-down Chiang Mai chapter felt like a quiet reset – and a reminder that the best trips, as Malavika put it, are the ones spent close to home, wherever in the world you happen to be.
