Bollywood stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra recently participated in a grand Ganga Aarti in Patna, Bihar, to seek blessings ahead of the release of their upcoming fantasy-folklore film, ‘The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest’. Tamannaah shared a captivating video on her Instagram account detailing the spiritual event, which took place on the banks of the river Ganga. The video captured an impressive aerial view of a riverside ghat decorated with thousands of diyas forming the movie’s title logo and its theatrical release date, September 25, 2026.

Tamannaah was seen wearing an elegant blue and yellow saree featuring intricate embroidery, while Sidharth opted for a classic cream embroidered kurta-pyjama. Accompanied by chanting priests and set to the film’s song ‘Chhathi Maiya’, the duo was seen holding the aarti lamps and offering water from a kalash. The massive crowd gathered at the ghat enthusiastically joined the actors in chanting “Chhathi Maiya ki Jai,” capturing the spectacle on their smartphones.

Tamannaah captioned the post, “Seeking blessings from Ganga Maa - Ganga Aarti #ChhathiMaiya #TheVVAAN @sidmalhotra @deepakmishra18,” and the post garnered immediate attention, including a like from the film's producer, Ektaa Kapoor.
‘The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest’ is highly anticipated for its unique blend of mythology, adventure, suspense, and romance. Set against a fictional, folklore-inspired universe, the story centres on the conflict between preserving the ancient Vvaan Devi forest temple and the push for modern development.
The recently released trailer introduced the “Bhuttakas,” described as dark forces of nature, and set up a mysterious premise where anyone entering the forest at night never returns. Sidharth and Tamannaah play a married couple based in Mumbai who travel to their village in Bihar for Chhath Puja, only to be drawn into a supernatural battle to protect the forest's traditions. The narrative highlighted themes of faith, past-life connections, and environmental conservation.
The promotional campaign for ‘The Vvaan’ has strongly emphasised its cultural roots. During the recent trailer launch in Mumbai, Tamannaah shared how shooting the Chhath Puja sequence deeply moved her, noting the rigorous 36-hour waterless fast observed by devotees. She expressed deep appreciation for the Bihari tradition of honouring both the rising and setting sun, calling Chhath an "emotion" rather than just a festival. The film's devotion to cultural accuracy even caught the attention of Tamannaah's family priest, who praised the authentic depiction of Chhath Puja after viewing the film's promotional song, ‘Chhathi Maiya’.
While in Patna, the film's team, including Ektaa Kapoor, not only engaged with massive crowds but also met with Bihar's Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, to present the world of ‘The Vvaan’. The local reception has been overwhelmingly positive, bolstered by the filmmakers' efforts to authentically portray regional festivals and stories on a grand cinematic scale.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by TVF's Arunabh Kumar, the film is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with TVF and 11.11 Production. Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari, the fantasy entertainer features an ensemble cast that includes Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari, Manish Paul, and Anup Soni. ‘The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest’ is slated to hit theatres nationwide on September 25, 2026.
