Vir Das Becomes First Indian Set To Host International Emmy Awards
Vir Das has become the first Indian set to host International Emmy Awards. The ceremony will be held on November 25 in New York City.
Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das is famous for his comebacks and replies, which are always dripping with wit and humour. He recently played the role of a journalist in Ananya Panday's OTT series debut ‘Call Me Bae’. Vir Das has now become the first Indian set to host the International Emmy Awards. The ceremony will be held on November 25 in New York City. Taking to Instagram, Vir Das shared the news with his fans and followers. In his post, the ‘Delhi Belly’ actor shared a picture of himself, along with a screenshot of a news article.
“Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy Host. I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited,” Vir Das wrote on Instagram.

In an official statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Vir Das said, “I am so happy to be hosting the International Emmys. It's a massive prestigious night to uphold makers from across a world that I believe is making its best content. I know first-hand how it can be life-changing.”
For the unversed, Vir Das was nominated for an Emmy in 2021 for his special ‘Vir Das: For India’.
He finally won an Emmy in 2023 for his Netflix special ‘Landing’. The hour-long programme, directed by him, was all about travelling the world, carrying one's country with them, and the notion of home.
