'Succession' finale recorded 2.9 million viewers on its premiere night.

'Succession' finale was aired on Sunday (Monday morning in India) and fans were amazed by the last episode. Fans were waiting to see the viewership numbers for Season 4 Episode 10 titled 'With Open Eyes' and in the latest Hollywood news, HBO has come out with the viewership numbers. The platform has revealed that 2.9 million people watched or streamed the series finale on the premiere night.

The platform also said that this is a record viewership for the highly-acclaimed drama series, and the numbers are expected to grow when delayed viewing is taken into account, reported the Associated Press.

Earlier, 'Succession' Season 4 episode that had aired on April 30 this year had registered a viewership of 2.75 million.

As per the Nielsen company, 'Succession' season 4 episodes have been seen by an average of 8.7 million viewers.

However, the 'Succession' Season 4 finale viewership numbers are way lesser when compared to the finale of 'Game of Thrones'.

The final episode of 'Game of Thrones' had recorded 19.8 million people who watched the finale on its premiere night.

HBO then estimated that some 46 million people watched that episode when delayed viewing was taken into account.

'Succession' had first premiered in 2018. The show, which stars Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun and J. Smith-Cameron, enjoys a great fan following.

Over the course of previous three seasons, ‘Succession’ has earned 48 Emmy nominations, and has won 13.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, the series follows media baron Logan Roy and his four children, Kendall, Shiv and Connor as the siblings compete to take over the family media company Waystar Royco.
