Bhumi Pednekar Gives Classic Kanjivaram Saree Its Boldest Glow-Up Yet. See Pics, Video
Bhumi Pednekar embraced contemporary Indian glamour in a handwoven metallic Kanjivaram saree paired with a brocade corset.
Bhumi Pednekar has steadily carved a niche for herself as one of Bollywood’s most experimental dressers, effortlessly balancing heritage craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes. Whether she is embracing sculptural couture, sharply tailored ensembles or reinvented Indian classics, the actress rarely shies away from making a bold sartorial statement. Her latest appearance follows that signature approach, proving that traditional textiles can be transformed into striking red-carpet-worthy creations. Rich craftsmanship, thoughtful styling and statement jewellery came together to create an ensemble that felt rooted in Indian heritage while embracing a distinctly modern sensibility.
For a recent awards show appearance, Bhumi wore a handwoven metallic silver Kanjivaram saree from Ekaya Banaras, crafted in a lightweight silk-tissue blend that lent the fabric its luminous, liquid-like sheen. Taking to Instagram, the Bollywood actress shared stunning photos of herself in the saree.

Instead of styling it conventionally, the saree was paired with a pale champagne-gold brocade corset featuring a sweetheart neckline, structured cups, visible boning and intricate woven floral motifs that added sculptural definition to the upper body. The most dramatic styling element was the saree’s pallu, which was swept over both shoulders like an oversized cape rather than draped traditionally, creating voluminous folds that framed the corset while adding architectural drama.
The fluid pleats gathered neatly at the front, allowing the metallic weave to catch the light from every angle. The combination of the heritage Kanjivaram weave and the sharply tailored corset delivered a striking balance between timeless Indian craftsmanship and contemporary couture, making the look both regal and fashion-forward.
Bhumi Pednekar elevated the ensemble with an elaborate selection of statement jewellery. She wore a double-strand diamond choker featuring a striking oval ruby centrepiece and a single pearl drop pendant, making it the focal point of her accessories. Sculptural polki ear cuffs hugged both ears, while decorative hair brooches embellished her sleek low bun, adding sparkle from the side profile. Multiple oversized cocktail rings adorned her fingers, creating a maximalist jewellery story without overpowering the outfit.
Her hair was parted cleanly and pulled back into a polished bun that highlighted the ear jewellery and neckline. The makeup leaned towards classic evening glamour with softly sculpted skin, luminous highlighting, defined brows, copper-toned eyeshadow, kohl-lined eyes, voluminous lashes, delicately contoured cheeks and a muted deep rose-brown lip.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Bhumi Pednekar recently featured in the Prime Video series ‘Daldal’. Prior to this, Bhumi starred alongside Ishaan Khatter in ‘The Royals’. Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday and Vihaan Samat featured in key roles in the Netflix show.
Bhumi Pednekar will reportedly next star alongside Imran Khan in his comeback film ‘Adhure Hum Adhure Tum’.
