Did you know, this actress dubbed in Telugu for Deepika Padukone in Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD'?

It has been more than a week since the release of Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, however, the internet still cannot stop raving about the film. 'Kalki 2898 AD' is nearing the Rs 500 crore mark in India, and it needs to be seen whether the film eventually stops at the ticket counters. But did you know that even 'Made in Heaven' actress Sobhita Dhulipala is a part of the science-fiction spectacle? Yes, you read that right! Sobhita might not have had appeared on screen, but she has played a key role in 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Sobhita Dhulipala has dubbed for Deepika Padukone's character in Telugu for the film.

This development was confirmed when Nag Ashwin gave Sobhita a shout-out in the opening credits of 'Kalki 2898 AD'.

Sobhita also shared a picture of the cue card that expressed gratitude. She wrote, "Sweetest" in the caption, and tagged 'Kalki 2898 AD' team, director Nag Ashwin and producer Swapna Dutt. For the unversed, Telugu is the mother tongue of Sobhita.

'Kalki 2898 AD' is Deepika Padukone's debut in Telugu film industry. She plays the role of Sum-80, aka Sumathi, who bears a miracle child.

The film takes a note from the pages of Mahabharat and Sumathi is said to be carrying the 10th avatar of Vishnu — Kalki — who will eventually bring an end to the Kali Yug and start a new era.

In the film, we are shown that Kamal Haasan’s Supreme Yaskin has made it his mission to kill the child, while Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama has been tasked to protect the unborn child.

Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world. 'Kalki 2898 AD' ends on a cliffhanger, promising a showdown between the characters of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Speaking to Variety about a potential Part 2, director Nag Ashwin said, "We shot about 25 or 30 days, but there’s a lot of action still left. It’s almost like a whole new production that’s going to start. Every loose end or thread that we left hanging has to be wrapped up."

"Obviously, the most important thing will be the face-off between these three, which will be between Yaskin who can now wield the Gandiva, which is thought to be the most powerful weapon, versus Karna and Ashwatthama, who are the most fearsome warriors," he added.
