Ever since the death of Malaika Arora's father, the internet has been speculating about the Bollywood actress' surname.
Earlier this week, a heartbreaking news surfaced as Bollywood actress Malaika Arora's father Anil Mehta died by alleged suicide. He was 62 years old. As per the Mumbai Police, Anil Mehta jumped from the sixth floor of a building in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Malaika Arora then took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking note, which read, "He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend."
"Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time," she added.
Ever since the statement went public, netizens started speculating how Malaika uses the surname Arora, when her father was named Anil Mehta.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Malaika Arora mentioned the birth year of Anil Mehta as 1973, which makes him just 12 years older than her, ruling out the possibility of him being her biological father.
Now, as per several reports, Anil Mehta was Malaika Arora's stepfather, and her real father's name is Anil Arora.
As per several reports, Anil Mehta had also called Malaika Arora and her sister Amrita, saying he was "sick and tired". Reportedly, Anil Mehta made the call, hours before allegedly taking his own life.
For the unversed, Malaika Arora was previously married to Salman Khan’s younger brother, Arbaaz. The duo had parted ways in 2017.
Arbaaz Khan was seemingly the first one to arrive at Malaika’s parents’ house on Wednesday. Other members of Salman’s family, such as parents Salim and Salma Khan, his stepmother Helen, sisters Alvira and Arpita, and brother Sohail, were also seen visiting the residence.
Malaika’s stepfather’s cremation was held at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday. Malaika was seen arriving with her mother, Joyce Arora, and her son, Arhaan Khan.
For the unversed, Anil Mehta was 62 at the time of his passing. Malaika's mother, Joyce Arora, reportedly shared the details about the incident to the police.
Anil and Joyce were divorced, but had reunited and were living together, as per several reports.
