'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' has managed to outperform Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra' in the opening weekend.

Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra' and Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri's 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' were two of the most-awaited Hindi movies of 2024. Both the Hindi films released in cinemas on Friday, October 11. However, both 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' have underperformed at the box office, but it is the latter that has managed to perform slightly better than the former. However, the road ahead for both the films looks rocky, and the crucial Monday test will make the picture clearer.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' earned Rs 6.25 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. On Day 3, the new Hindi film had an overall occupancy of 21.08 per cent. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 18.65 crore.

Earlier, 'Jigra' had become Alia Bhatt's lowest opener since 2014's 'Highway'. For the unversed, Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway' had made Rs 3.40 crore on the opening day of its release, but eventually managed to make Rs 30 crore in India. It remains to be seen whether 'Jigra' even manages to reach this figure or not.

'Jigra' is also in the middle of a huge controversy after actress Divya Khossla Kumar slammed Alia Bhatt, accusing her of rigging box office numbers of her latest release.

Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, "Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty … all theaters going empty every where. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent."

'Jigra' producer Karan Johar then seemingly reacted with a cryptic post. KJo shared a quote, which stated, "Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools."

However, Divya then once again responded with a quote, which read, "Truth will always offend fools opposed to it." She posted another IG Story, that read, "When you are so accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice, no spine.”

Speaking of 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video', the Raaj Shaandilyaa directorial marks the first collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri.
