Sunny Deol's 'Jaat' slows down at box office.

Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh's 'Jaat' might have gone past the Rs 50 crore mark, but the weekdays have slowed down the progress of the film. The new Hindi movie has failed to cause the same impact as Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' and it looks unlikely that ‘Jaat’ will go past the Rs 100 crore mark. The Sunny Deol-led film will be impacted later this week as Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday's 'Kesari Chapter 2' releases in theatres.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Jaat' earned Rs 4 crore on Wednesday, the seventh day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 57.50 crore.

‘Jaat’ had gone past the Rs 50 crore mark on Tuesday. Earlier, the film had registered its biggest single day haul yet on Sunday by earning Rs 14 crore.

The new Hindi film has been directed by Gopichand Malineni and also stars Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and Ramya Krishnan. Earlier, at the trailer launch event of 'Jaat', Sunny Deol expressed his wish of seeing Bollywood producers learning from the conviction of the South makers.

Sunny Deol had also spoken up about the box office pressure that is attached to every film these days. While speaking to Bollywood Life, he said, “I have not taken pressure basically ever in my life. But aaj ke zamaane mein even if you are not taking then koi sui chubho deta hai ki pressure lo! Kyuki itne charche hone lag jaate hain ke ye figure he, wo hai! Aadmi ghabrane lag jata hai.”

“Overall, Jaat reinforces why the big-screen experience remains unmatched. Some films just feel better in a dark theatre with surround sound. It also proves that strong entertainment value can help smooth over narrative bumps. This one’s a solid time at the movies," he added.

Next up, Sunny Deol will be seen in 'Lahore 1947', directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan Productions. He will also be seen in 'Border 2', alongside Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.

The film is expected to release in 2026. Sunny Deol had recently shared that 'Border 2' will be set in 1971.
