Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Srikanth’ Remains Steady On First Monday, Nears Rs 15 Crore Mark

Riding on a positive word of mouth, the new Hindi movie is managing to leave a mark among the audiences. And it is looking likely that ‘Srikanth’ will go past the Rs 20 crore mark by the end of this week. If this happens, it will be a huge feat for the new Hindi movie, considering its mid budget. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Srikanth’ minted Rs 1.75 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release.

As a result, the four-day nett collection of ‘Srikanth’ now stands at Rs 13.45 crore. The new Hindi movie had an overall 11.57 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday. For the unversed, ‘Srikanth’ minted Rs 2.25 crore on Day 1, Rs 4.2 crore on Day 2 and Rs 5.25 crore on Day 3.

For the unversed, ‘Srikanth’ is going head-to-head against Hollywood film ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ at the box office. Both the films were released in cinemas on May 10 in India.

‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ minted Rs 1.63 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release, and the four-day collection now stands at Rs 13.40 crore, as per Sacnilk.

Coming back to ‘Srikanth’, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment. The movie has received favourable reviews from all corners.

‘Srikanth’ marks Rajkummar Rao's significant turnaround from his previous theatrical releases such as ‘Bheed’ and ‘HIT: The First Case’.

Rajkummar Rao will next be seen in ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The upcoming Hindi movie will be releasing in cinemas on May 31, 2024. The trailer for the film was recently released, and it with met unanimous praise.

Rajkummar Rao also has ‘Stree 2’ in the pipeline. The movie is slated to be released in cinemas in August 2024.
