Tiger 3 day 5 collection
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Tiger 3’ dipped even further in its collection on its fifth day.

Bollywood megastar Salman Khan has delivered several blockbuster movies in his decades-long career. Some of his highest-grossing films include ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and ‘Kick’. These movies not only showcased Salman Khan's star power but also highlighted his ability to connect with a diverse audience through a range of genres, from emotional dramas to high-octane action films. Recently, Salman Khan came out with a new Hindi movie ‘Tiger 3’. While fans were anticipating that the new Bollywood film will easily cross its predecessor, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the latest box office collection suggests otherwise.

‘Tiger 3’, the latest movie in the YRF Spy Universe, reunited Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif after their 2019 Bollywood film ‘Bharat’. The new Hindi movie, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, released in theatres on Diwali 2023. After a blockbuster start at the box office, ‘Tiger 3’ seems to be struggling to maintain its stronghold.

On the fifth day of its release, ‘Tiger 3’ minted Rs 18.50 crore (early estimates) in India, as per industry Sacnilk. While this is a great number, it is significantly lesser than what the movie made on its fourth day. Thursday’s collection of the movie took its domestic net total to just under Rs 190 crore. Its total currently stands at Rs 187.65 crore.

On the fourth day of its release i.e. its first Wednesday, ‘Tiger 3’ had witnessed a huge dip, a shocking 50 per cent drop in its collection. The new Hindi movie had minted Rs 21.25 crore across all languages.

For the unversed, ‘Tiger 3’ minted Rs 44.50 crore across all languages on Sunday. It witnessed significant growth on Monday, collecting Rs 59.25 crore (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu). On Tuesday, it made Rs 44.75 crore across all languages.

It remains to be seen how the movie performs for the remaining week and if it will be able to beat two of Salman Khan’s highest-grossing movies ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (Rs 339.16 crore) and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ (Rs 320.34 crore).

Currently, ‘Tiger 3’ is the fastest Salman Khan film to go past the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. ‘Tiger 3’ has also joined Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’ when it comes to being the fastest to enter the Rs 100 crore club.

‘Tiger 3’ is also Salman Khan’s 17th film to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the box office, and this is the highest for any actor in the history of Indian cinema.

Speaking of ‘Tiger 3’, the new Hindi movie has been directed by Maneesh Sharma. It had opened to mixed reviews. Some of the critics described it as the weakest film in the YRF Spy Universe.

‘Tiger 3’ also features cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The latter appears in the post-credits scene, setting up the events in motion for ‘War 2’, in which he will be sharing the screen with Jr NTR.

For the unversed, the YRF Spy Universe consists of movies such as 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War', 'Pathaan', and now 'Tiger 3'. YRF has two more movies expected to come out -- 'War 2', and 'Tiger vs Pathaan'.
