As per Variety, 'Dune: Part Two' is poised to surpass the USD 500 million by the end of Monday. 'Dune 2' has already become the highest-grossing film of 2024 at the domestic and worldwide box office. As per Variety, 'Dune: Part Two' took just 10 days to surpass the entire domestic tally of the first installment of 'Dune' franchise. For the unversed, 'Dune: Part One' made USD 108 million in the USA.
For the unversed, the original 2021 film was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.
Speaking of 'Dune: Part Two', the new Hollywood movie, has enjoyed the strongest turnout in China (USD 26 million), UK (USD 32.8 million), Germany (USD 25 million), France (USD 24.9 million) and Australia (USD 15.6 million).
‘Dune: Part Two’ resumes the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he joins forces with the Fremen to save the galaxy from the Harkonnen empire. In ‘Dune: Part One’, the Harkonnen empire was responsible for the death of Paul's father.
Apart from Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, 'Dune: Part Two' also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux and Austin Butler.
