Actress Trisha Calls Ranbir Kapoor’s 'Animal' "Cult" Film, Deletes Post After Being Trolled
'Leo' and 'Ponniyin Selvan' actress Trisha Krishnan took to Instagram Story, and she described 'Animal' as "cult". However, she has now deleted her post.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest directorial 'Animal' has divided the world into two sections. One section consists of people who love the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, while the other section has been slamming the new Hindi movie for its misogynistic dialogues and problematic scenes. If you look at the responses to 'Animal', it is fair to say there is nothing in between. Very few people are opting to have a balanced discussion on the film. People who love the movie are being trolled on social media, and people who are bashing the film are also being mercilessly trolled.
The major gripe that many people are having with 'Animal' is that the film "glorifies toxic men". In the latest entertainment news, 'Leo' and 'Ponniyin Selvan' actress Trisha Krishnan took to Instagram Story, and she described 'Animal' as "cult."
Sharing the 'Animal' poster on Instagram Story, Trisha wrote, "One word- CULT! Pppppppaaaaaahhhhhhh."

As soon as the actress posted her opinion, she was trolled on social media as her review did not go down well with many on social media. Many users brought up her latest controversy featuring Mansoor Ali Khan.
Trisha Krishnan was in the news recently for calling out Mansoor Ali Khan for his rape comment.
After being called out for her 'Animal' post, Trisha deleted it, but the screenshots of her review are now going viral on social media.
However, some fans are also standing by Trisha as they believe movies are a "subjective art" and everyone has a right to their opinion.
Here are some of the comments:
“Why are you glorifying this sh*t movie. Cult?!! Cult?! Seriously!? Even men are calling out but actresses are hyping this?! I can’t with this herd mentality. Women, just stop. Stop glorifying, hyping Animal movie,” wrote a user on Reddit.
“Movies like Animal is what gives rise to people like Mansoor Ali Khan. The fact that Trisha of all people goes and wax lyrical about that movie is just all kinds of wrong," wrote another user on Reddit.
"Everyone are entitled to their opinion. But of course, some people who were waiting for a chance to launch a hate attack against her (the very same people who were silently supporting the awful guy who made sleazy comments about her publically & is facing legal action) lapped this up. Poor Trisha had to delete it almost immediately. What kind of world is this where people have to live in fear and can not even express their opinion on a movie they watched? P.S. Personally, I’m repulsed by the movie from the reviews itself and will probably never watch it. But that doesn’t mean I’ll play judge, jury, and executioner to others who liked the movie. It’s their choice. There are people who see it just as a film and like it. There are people who don’t. It’s a free world," wrote one user.
For the unversed, 'Animal', directed by Sandeep Redddy Vanga, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. Despite severe backlash, the film has set the box office on fire, making more than Rs 200 crore in just three days.
If the post-credits scene is anything to go by, there will be sequel to 'Animal' as well, and it will be titled 'Animal Park', where Ranbir Kapoor would be having a double role.
