Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ Continues Its Golden Run At Box Office, Nears Rs 300 Crore Mark
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ continues to be a box office monster that cannot be tamed.

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for the hit film ‘Arjun Reddy’ and its Hindi remake ‘Kabir Singh’ which went on to become a blockbuster, recently came out with his third directorial ‘Animal’. The new Hindi movie, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri, is proving to be a box office monster that cannot be tamed. ‘Animal’ is also continuing to be at the centre of a heated discussion on the internet regarding the themes explored and the message it has sent out to the society.
Despite the negative chatter, ‘Animal’ has managed to find quite an audience for itself, and the box office collection is going through the roof.
On Day 5 (first Tuesday), Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ minted Rs 38.25 crore, across all languages in India, as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk.
The five-day domestic nett total now stands at a whopping Rs 283.74 crore. With this, ‘Animal’ has become the second-highest grosser of Ranbir Kapoor’s career, only behind Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’.
Given its golden run at the box office till now, ‘Animal’ will likely cross the Rs 300 mark in India today. The new Bollywood film reported 42 per cent occupancy for the Hindi language on Day 5 of its release.
‘Animal’ is now the third consecutive success for Sandeep Reddy Vanga as he had earlier delivered blockbusters in the form of ‘Arjun Reddy’ and its Hindi remake ‘Kabir Singh’.
On Tuesday, T-Series had reported that the four-day global gross of ‘Animal’ stands at Rs 425 crore and the film will soon be crossing the global gross of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’.
Earlier, it was reported that the first Monday collections of ‘Animal’ are bigger than 2023’s biggest Hindi hits such as ‘Jawan’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Gadar 2’.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ is currently the highest grossing Hindi film of all time, and it remains to be seen whether ‘Animal’ will be able to challenge that record.
This box office performance of ‘Animal’ is huge considering it is an ‘A’ (adults only) film and has a runtime of more than three hours. ‘Animal’ also clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office. Both the new Hindi movies released in cinemas on December 1.
Talking about ‘Sam Bahadur’, the Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra-starrer, directed by Meghna Gulzar, made Rs 3.50 crore on Tuesday, taking the five day total to Rs 32.55 crore.
For the unversed, ‘Sam Bahadur’ had collected the same amount on Monday as well.
However, it can be safely said that ‘Animal’ is expected to rule the ticket counters until Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ releases in theatres on December 21. A day later, Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ will also be releasing in theatres.
