The Kapoor-Ahuja family has reason to celebrate as Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja, have officially become parents for the second time. The couple welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on Sunday (March 29). The news has sent a wave of excitement through the film industry and among their fanbase, marking a beautiful new chapter for the couple who are now a family of four. The couple took to social media to share their joy directly with their followers.
In a heartfelt joint statement posted on Instagram on Sunday evening, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja expressed their deep appreciation and love for the new arrival.

The announcement note, which quickly went viral, reflected the couple's happy and emotional state: "With immense gratitude and hearts full of love, we are delighted to announce the arrival of our baby boy on the 29th of March 2026. Our family has grown, and with his arrival, our hearts have expanded in the most beautiful way."
The note also highlighted the reaction of their first-born son, Vayu, who was born in 2022. According to the proud parents, "Vayu is overjoyed to welcome his little brother, and we feel deeply blessed by this precious new life who has filled our home with happiness and grace." They concluded the message by stating how grateful they are to begin this journey as a quartet.
As soon as the news broke, the comments section of their social media post was flooded with blessings and congratulatory messages from the crème de la crème of Bollywood. Close friends and colleagues, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, and Huma Qureshi, were among the first to shower the newborn and the couple with love. Sonam and Anand’s relationship has often been a point of interest for fans of the actress. The two first met in 2015 during the promotional cycle for her film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. Interestingly, while friends had initially intended to set Sonam up with one of Anand’s friends, the actress found herself connecting more deeply with Anand. After two weeks of consistent texting and building a rapport, the two realized their mutual affection. This led to their high-profile yet intimate wedding ceremony in 2018.
The couple’s path to their second child began publicly in November 2025, when Sonam announced her pregnancy in signature style, sharing photographs that showcased her baby bump. Although the film, which premiered on JioHotstar, received largely negative feedback from both critics and audiences, fans remain eager to see what the actress chooses for her next professional endeavour.
