The temperature in Bollywood just hit a new high. After weeks of anticipation, the makers of the upcoming romance action-thriller ‘O Romeo’ have finally dropped the second track from the film, titled ‘Aashiqon Ki Colony’. Featuring the first-ever on-screen pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Disha Patani, the song is a high-octane celebration of rhythm, retro-charm, and undeniable magnetism.

Check out the music video of ‘Aashiqon Ki Colony’ here:

The music video opens with a cinematic flair, introducing Shahid Kapoor as the “raw and untamed” Ustara. Dressed in a signature cowboy hat and a patterned shirt that screams gangster-cool, Shahid commands the screen with his effortless swagger. However, the spotlight is equally shared by Disha Patani, who appears as a glamorous seductress in an emerald-green and maroon ensemble.

The choreography is a standout feature, blending modern slickness with a vibrant 90s retro vibe. Fans are already raving about Shahid’s flawless moonwalk and the synchronized energy of the background dancers. The chemistry between the duo is palpable, especially in the close-knit sequences where the "deadly gangster" and the "mysterious Julie" trade smouldering glances amidst a sea of flying banknotes and celebratory cheers.

Musically, 'Aashiqon Ki Colony' marks another stellar collaboration between director-composer Vishal Bhardwaj and the legendary lyricist Gulzar. Sung with infectious energy by Madhubanti Bagchi and Javed Ali, the track balances Vishal Bhardwaj’s signature melodic depth with a "massy" appeal that is likely to dominate dance floors this season.

The lyrics by Gulzar add a poetic layer to the gritty setting, with the hook “Aashiqon Ki Colony Mein Ghar Le Liya” serving as a playful nod to the film’s central theme of love blooming in the most dangerous of places.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, ‘O Romeo’ is inspired by real-life events detailed in Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. The film follows the story of Ustara (Shahid), a stone-hearted gangster, and his intense, often violent journey through Mumbai's underworld.

While the first song ‘Hum Toh Tere Hi Liye’ showcased a softer, more emotional side of the film featuring Triptii Dimri, ‘Aashiqon Ki Colony’ serves as a stark contrast, highlighting the film’s gritty, high-energy world.

At a recent trailer launch, Vishal Bhardwaj emphasised that despite the violence and the Ustara character's rugged exterior, the film is, at its heart, an unrequited love story.

‘O Romeo’ boasts an ensemble cast including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Vikrant Massey. The film is slated to hit the silver screen on February 13, 2026, making it the primary contender for the Valentine’s Day weekend box office.
