Shah Rukh Khan is officially back to breaking the internet. And this time, he’s serving up a hilarious comeback for those worried about a massive box office clash! During his latest #AskSRK session on X on Tuesday, the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ dropped some major updates about his highly anticipated film ‘King’, and left fans in splits with his witty take on facing off against two massive Hollywood juggernauts. With ‘King’ scheduled to roar into theatres on December 24, 2026, the film is set to release around the same time as ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’.

A concerned fan asked SRK if he felt his film was being "sandwiched" between these massive global releases. Never one to back down from a witty response, SRK replied with his trademark humour: “Not at all....Baaki bread pieces ka bhi toh socho....hum toh center ki tasty Tikki hain”.

The interaction kicked off after SRK wished his fans for Ganesh Chaturthi and invited them for a casual chat. With just 100 days to go until the film hits the big screen, the excitement is palpable. When asked what he’s most excited to show the audience, he didn’t just highlight one element. “Everything in King ...worked very hard to entertain as many as possible. The action the songs the actors and of course my hair!!!” he shared.

Fans were also eager to know about the most challenging part of filming. SRK admitted that the shoot wasn't entirely smooth sailing, revealing that physical demands led to a few injuries. “Had a few injuries while shooting so had to start stop many times but now all broken is fixed...and nearly all done...so all good,” he assured his followers.

Of course, the most pressing question was about the much-awaited trailer. When asked why the wait was taking so long, Shah Rukh explained that the team is meticulously crafting the promotional material. “Ab picture hi dekho na! Tarsa nahi raha join acchhi wali bana raha hoon....ke Dil ko tasalli mile....Sab ayega...24th Dec se pehle,” he quipped, promising that fans would get all the promotional material before the film drops.

When another fan cheekily asked if the delay was his or director Siddharth Anand’s fault, SRK came to Sid’s defense. “Sid toh bechara laga hua hai. Late bhai hain...taking time to put our best foot forward so u all enjoy it and feel proud and happy with King,” he explained.

The actor also shared that he’s deeply involved in the VFX process. “Troubling RC Vfx a lot. Sitting on Harry and Keiten head to deliver the best. I think they might ban me from coming to the office late nights soon,” he joked.

Teasing the film's tone, SRK added, “Yeah action is very big and Sid has really worked hard on it. But I hope the emotions and comedy appeal to you all also.” He also poked fun at his director’s on-set style, saying, “Ha ha main toh normally wire se latak raha hota hoon....harness pe! Sirf Director hi bolta hai...humari toh bolti bandh hot hai...also Sid shouts toooo loud so nobody can hear us only.”

Music fans will also have to wait a little longer for the first song, as Arijit Singh is currently adding his magic. “Kar deta Abhi Arijit dada ko finishing touches dene hain. He is a perfectionist takes some time rightfully,” SRK noted.

On being asked how did it feel to reunite with Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji for the film, Shah Rukh said, “The best ever. It's lovely always to work with my best friends.”

SRK also had high praise for Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ as he wrote, “Loved both the parts....fantastic by the whole team!!!”

As for what's next after ‘King’? SRK kept it mysterious but very on-brand, responding with, “Pata nahi Abhi toh 'King Akela Kaafi hai'.”

‘King’ promises to be a massive spectacle, featuring an ensemble cast that also includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, December 24 can’t come soon enough!
