Shah Rukh Khan was in Mangalore on Thursday for an event hosted by a real estate group.

The undisputed King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, recently turned a professional engagement into an unforgettable trip down memory lane. On Thursday, the superstar touched down in the port city of Mangalore, Karnataka, for an event hosted by a real estate group. What began as a standard appearance quickly transformed into a massive celebration, marking a highly special milestone: the 34th anniversary of his Bollywood debut in Raj Kanwar’s 1992 romantic drama, ‘Deewana’.

For Shah Rukh Khan, this visit was a genuine homecoming. While he was born in New Delhi, the actor spent the first five years of his life, from 1965 to 1970, living in Mangalore with his grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed. Acknowledging these deep-seated roots, he immediately won over the massive crowd by greeting them with a warm "namaskara" in Kannada. Overwhelmed by the reception, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, “Thank you, Mangalore! First of all, when I was coming here, I didn't know what to expect. But the warmth, love, goodness, and excitement, right from the airport to the drive down here, amidst all you people, felt great.”

The evening quickly escalated into a full-blown celebration of his vibrant career. SRK brought his trademark energy to the stage, treating the ecstatic audience to live performances of his biggest chartbusters. He set the stage on fire with the energetic hook steps of ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’, and following repeated, enthusiastic requests from the crowd, he delivered a loud-cheer-inducing performance to the hit track ‘Chammak Challo’. Taking fans on a nostalgic spin, he also revisited the timeless magic of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, proving that his on-stage charisma remains completely untouched.

As expected, videos of the superstar addressing the audience and dancing flooded social media, instantly going viral. Fans simply couldn't contain their excitement at seeing him relive these iconic moments. One emotional fan penned, “And with his iconic pose, the celebration comes full circle. Here's to 34 glorious years of Shah Rukh Khan, 34 years of dreams, love, and unforgettable memories.” Another user pointed out the actor's enduring appeal, commenting, “This is what timeless looks like.”

The comment sections across platforms were packed with praise. Admirers dropped comments reading, “Proof that charisma has its own rhythm,” “Unmatched Aura,” and “A king never forgets his roots.” One user beautifully summarized his legacy: “Some dialogues become iconic. Some become a way of life. That's the impact of Shah Rukh Khan. Forever timeless,” while another gushed, “An aura that can't be copied. A legacy that can't be matched.”

While celebrating his illustrious past, SRK is also gearing up for an explosive future on the film front. The superstar is currently working on his highly awaited action film, ‘King’. This upcoming project holds immense significance as it will officially mark the theatrical debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan, following her initial acting debut in Netflix’s ‘The Archies’.

Reportedly drawing heavy inspiration from the acclaimed 1994 classic ‘Léon: The Professional’, ‘King’ will feature the superstar stepping into the intense role of a veteran hitman who takes it upon himself to protect a young girl. The film boasts an incredibly impressive ensemble cast, bringing together Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles.

The buzz surrounding ‘King’ is already at a fever pitch, further fuelled by recent spottings of Shah Rukh and Deepika in Cape Town, where they were reportedly shooting crucial portions of the movie. Helmed by Siddharth Anand – who previously directed Khan in the massive blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ – and co-written by the acclaimed Sujoy Ghosh, ‘King’ is officially scheduled for a highly anticipated Christmas 2026 release.
