Salman Khan referred 'Laapataa Ladies' as Kiran Rao’s directorial debut.

Kiran Rao’s recent directorial venture, ‘Laapataa Ladies’, was released in cinemas on March 1, 2024. The new Hindi movie has been well received by the critics and cinephiles. The film might not have been able to set the cash registers ringing as ‘Laapataa Ladies’, which has been backed by Aamir Khan Productions, is yet to cross the Rs 10 crore mark in India. However, the film has been praised for its storyline and direction. Several celebrities have expressed their love for the film and the latest Bollywood actor to join the list is Salman Khan.

On Wednesday evening, Salman Khan took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise ‘Laapataa Ladies’. However, in doing so, he made a gaffe. The Bollywood superstar referred to the movie as Kiran Rao’s directorial debut.

Taking to X, Salman Khan wrote, “Just saw Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. Wah wah Kiran. I really enjoyed it n so did my father. Congrats on your debut as a director, superb job. Kab kaam karogi mere saath?”

Speaking of ‘Laapataa Ladies’, the movie is set in 2001 and it is a story about two young brides who get separated during a train journey. As the brides get lost, a police officer (Ravi Kishan), takes it upon himself to probe the missing case.

Talking about Salman Khan, he is good friends with Bollywood star Aamir Khan, who is Kiran Rao’s ex-husband.

Recently Salman Khan had confirmed his collaboration with ‘Ghajini’ director AR Murugadoss. The film, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be releasing in cinemas on Eid 2025.
