In the world of Bollywood, where stars are constantly surrounded by flashing cameras and screaming fans, even a moment of visible frustration can quickly snowball into a full-blown internet debate. And that is exactly what happened with Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt after a video from a recent screening event went viral online. The clip, which showed Ranbir apparently losing his cool at photographers while leaving the venue with Alia, instantly divided social media users. While some criticised the actor for his reaction, many others rushed to defend him, arguing that celebrities deserve personal space too.

The incident reportedly took place during a screening of ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, where Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt arrived together. As expected, the celebrity couple attracted massive attention from paparazzi gathered outside the venue. However, things appeared to get chaotic within seconds as photographers crowded around the actors in an attempt to capture pictures and videos.

In the now-viral clips circulating online, Ranbir could be seen trying to make his way through the tightly packed crowd while ensuring Alia remained comfortable amid the pushing and chaos. At one point, the actor visibly lost patience and was heard sternly asking the paparazzi to back off. Reports suggested that the overwhelming crowding and lack of space triggered his irritation.

According to videos shared online, Ranbir repeatedly requested photographers to maintain distance while escorting Alia through the crowd. The situation escalated when the swarm around the couple became even more intense near their car. The actor’s visibly annoyed expression and sharp tone soon became the talking point across social media platforms.

However, the internet did not entirely turn against him. In fact, a large section of fans came out strongly in support of the actor. Many social media users argued that the paparazzi culture in Mumbai has increasingly become invasive, with celebrities often being mobbed in uncomfortable situations. Fans pointed out that Ranbir’s reaction appeared more protective than aggressive, especially considering how tightly photographers had surrounded both him and Alia.

Several users commented that celebrities are human beings too and cannot be expected to remain calm when dozens of cameras are pushed directly into their faces. Others praised Ranbir for trying to shield Alia from the chaos and maintaining composure despite the overwhelming crowd.

The incident has once again reignited conversations around celebrity privacy and the growing paparazzi frenzy in Bollywood. Over the years, several stars including Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have spoken openly about invasive paparazzi behaviour, especially when it comes to family moments or crowded public appearances.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will soon be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’. Apart from Alia, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. It marks Alia's second collaboration with SLB after 2022's ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, for which she won a National Award for Best Actress.

‘Love and War’ will release in theatres on January 21, 2027, arriving a few days ahead of the Republic Day window. Alia also has spy thriller ‘Alpha’ in the pipeline.

Ranbir, on the other hand, is currently awaiting the release of ‘Ramayana’, where he will essay the role of Lord Rama. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Backed by Namit Malhotra, the first instalment is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by the second in Diwali 2027.
