Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. The new release date is yet to be announced.

‘Emergency’, starring Kangana Ranaut, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies of 2024. The upcoming Hindi film will see the Bollywood actress playing the role of former India Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. However, fans will now have to wait a little longer to see the film on the silver screen. Production banner Manikarnika Films have released a statement on social media, confirming that ‘Emergency’ has been postponed once again. The upcoming Hindi film has been postponed as Kangana Ranaut “prioritises her duty to the nation”.

For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut is currently ruling party BJP's candidate for Himachal Pradesh's Mandi Lok Sabha seat.

“Our hearts are filled with love pouring in for our queen Kangana Ranaut. As she prioritises her duty to the nation and her commitment to serve the country, the release date of our much awaited film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed,” Manikarnika Films wrote on Instagram.

“We promise to update you soon with a new release date. Thank you for your continued support,” the production house added.

Earlier, ‘Emergency’ was slated to be released in cinemas on June 14, 2024, clashing with Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming movie ‘Chandu Champion’. Kangana Ranaut had announced the release date, a day after attending the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya in January.

‘Emergency’ has been directed by Kangana Ranaut. The film was previously slated to be released in cinemas on November 24, 2023, but it was postponed due to the changes in Kangana Ranaut's schedule.

The upcoming Hindi film also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and the late Satish Kaushik.

Kangana Ranaut is currently busy campaigning for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, on the film front, the Bollywood actress was last seen in ‘Tejas’. The film, which released on the same day as Vikrant Massey’s ‘12th Fail’, tanked miserably at the box office.
