Kangana Ranaut Reacts After Pawan Kalyan Calls Her “Stronger Actor” Than Kareena And Priyanka
While promoting ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’, Pawan Kalyan named Kangana Ranaut as his top pick for a potential co-star, choosing her over several of her Bollywood contemporaries.
In the world of cinema, casting preferences often stir as much buzz as the films themselves – especially when stars pit icons against icons. That’s exactly what happened when actor and Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, opened up about his ideal co-stars during a rapid-fire round with Hauterrfly while promoting his latest release ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’. Known for steering clear of film promotions in the past, Pawan Kalyan took a refreshing turn this time, diving into press activities to support his first post-election release.
During the quick-fire segment, he was asked to choose between some of Bollywood’s biggest names.
When prompted to pick between Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone, he diplomatically chose both. The next round – Alia, Deepika, and Kriti Sanon – saw him leaning toward all three. However, once Kiara Advani was added to the mix, Pawan Kalyan finally settled on Kriti.
The conversation got more interesting when the host brought Kangana Ranaut into the equation. Asked to choose between Kriti and Kangana, he firmly went with Kangana. He made the same choice when asked to pick between Kangana and Priyanka Chopra. As for Kareena Kapoor vs Kangana, Pawan Kalyan said it depended on the film but added thoughtfully, “Looking at how she portrayed Indira Gandhi (in Emergency), I think I should go with the stronger person, Kangana Ranaut.”
Kangana, who played the former Prime Minister in her self-directed political drama ‘Emergency’, acknowledged Pawan Kalyan’s praise by reposting the clip on her Instagram Stories with folded hands and heart emojis.

Interestingly, the only actress who managed to surpass Kangana in this rapid-fire was the late legendary actress Sridevi, his brother Chiranjeevi’s co-star in ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’. When asked to choose between Kangana and Sridevi, Pawan smiled and replied, “This one, Sridevi, of course.”
For context, Kangana – who began her career with ‘Gangster’ in 2006 – has appeared in just one Telugu film, ‘Ek Niranjan’ opposite Prabhas in 2009.
She was last seen in ‘Emergency’, a film she directed and produced. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan, fresh off the release of ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ in all South Indian languages (with the Hindi version pending), will next be seen in ‘They Call Him OG’ and ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’.
