Kangana Ranaut’s U-Turn: After Dissing Hollywood, Signs Her 1st Film ‘Blessed Be The Evil’
Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her Hollywood debut with horror film ‘Blessed Be the Evil’, co-starring Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone.

Kangana Ranaut is headed West! The Bollywood actress and BJP MP, who once swore off chasing Hollywood dreams, is now all set to make her international debut with a horror film titled ‘Blessed Be the Evil’. The project marks a significant pivot from her earlier statements, where she had firmly declared that she had no plans to venture into Western cinema. As per a report in Variety, the film will feature Kangana alongside ‘Teen Wolf’ star Tyler Posey and Sylvester Stallone’s daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone.
The film is being produced by Lions Movies and will be directed by Anurag Rudra, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Gatha Tiwary. Shooting is scheduled to begin later this year in New York, with producers opting for U.S. locations to “avoid running into any uncertainties stemming from the recently announced Trump industry tariffs”.
Kangana Ranaut's talent will truly shine in Hollywood. I wish she didn't ruin her relationship with Priyanka because Priyanka has been nothing but warm towards her all the time. I hope they can work together in a project there. https://t.co/M5N2uiY005

The storyline of the horror drama revolves around a Christian couple grappling with the aftermath of a traumatic miscarriage. In hopes of healing, they move into an abandoned farmhouse, only to confront a sinister force that tests their love and faith. The project is set to be pitched to international buyers at the Cannes Film Market.
The announcement has ignited mixed reactions online – some fans are excited, while others are calling out the actress for flipping her earlier stance. Back in 2017, Kangana had famously told Mid-Day that moving to the West would be “stupid,” citing the decline of Hollywood’s theatre business due to digital disruption and calling Asia the new entertainment goldmine.
She had said, “It would be stupid for anyone to make the move to the West now. Their theatre business is crashing because of the influx of digital media. Asia, on the other hand, is where Hollywood was 15 years ago. It is a lucrative time for entertainment here. These are baits that I won’t fall prey to.”
In 2021, she also urged Indian audiences to support local cinema over Hollywood movies, warning that foreign films were “taking over our screens.”
At a press conference, Kangana had said, “We need to discourage American and English movies as they are taking over our screens. We need to behave like one nation. We need to stop dividing ourselves like North India or South India. We need to enjoy our own films first, be it Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu or Punjabi.”
During a 2022 appearance on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, she brushed off questions about a Hollywood debut. She said, “Humare yaha pe itne talented log hai na, to humme kahin aane jaane ki zarurat nahi hai. Ab jaise ki, world has become one place na, to sab log yaha kaam kare, waha ke log yaha pe kaam kar rahe hai.”
Naturally, the internet has thoughts. One user wrote, “No hate to her, but honestly, getting meaningful work in Hollywood is extremely difficult. They often cast Indian actors just to tap into the Indian market and then hand them some third-tier role. I genuinely hope that if she does go there, she gets a good opportunity but judging by the experiences of those who’ve gone before her, it usually ends up being more about market appeal than real talent recognition.”
Another user added, “I truly hope everything works out well for her. It could open up so many new opportunities for her, and her acting talent definitely deserves that kind of recognition. She’s one of those rare actresses who genuinely deserves this kind of breakthrough. I just hope it doesn’t turn out like Priyanka’s journey.”
Some fans were more optimistic. One fan wrote, “She’s going to kill it,” as another one added, “Kangana Ranaut's talent will truly shine in Hollywood.”
“I wish she didn't ruin her relationship with Priyanka because Priyanka has been nothing but warm towards her all the time. I hope they can work together in a project there,” read one comment.
Of course, the drama wouldn’t be complete without a subtle dig at Karan Johar. “Tonight will be a tough night for Karan Johar,” a user joked. Others were simply stunned by the casting choice, “Never in my life did I see this coming... KANGANA RANAUT AND TYLER POSEY IN ONE MOVIE? LMAO.”
