Kajol Shares Amusing Secret To Her Happy Marriage With Ajay Devgn
Kajol opened up about her marriage with Ajay Devgn, revealing what has kept their bond strong over the years.
In the world of Bollywood where relationships often fade under the spotlight, Kajol and Ajay Devgn have managed to sustain a strong, enduring bond that spans over two decades. The couple, who first met on the sets of their 1995 film ‘Hulchul’, tied the knot in 1999 and have since become one of the industry's most beloved pairs. While many speculate about the secret to their lasting marriage, Kajol has now shed light on what keeps their relationship going.
In a recent interview with Mashable India, Kajol explained that their contrasting personalities play a major role in their compatibility.
“Ajay and I are completely different otherwise hum logo ko itne saal nahi lagte, we would have separated long before,” she said, stressing that their opposite energies complement one another.
Offering her signature dose of humour, Kajol added, “I say this quite often that the secret to happy marriage is partial deafness and selective amnesia. Kuch cheezein bhoolni bohot zaruri hai, aur kuch cheezein na sunni bohot zaruri hai.”
The Bollywood actress also revealed that traditional date nights don’t exist in their household. “We don’t have date nights and all that. Hum yeh sab nahi karte hai. We mostly have family time because it is very rare that we spend time at home together. Either he is working or travelling or I am working or travelling. So whenever we find some time, we try and stay at home with everybody else. No date nights as such,” she shared.
When asked about the romantic spark, Kajol joked, “Kitne saal hogaye shaadi ke, you can’t expect me to blush when I am talking about him.”
Apart from their deep bond, Kajol also praised Ajay Devgn’s surprising talent in the kitchen. She said, “Unki khaasiyat hai, vo kisi bhi cheez ko ek baar taste karte hai, he would know how to make it exactly the same. He would never tell you his secret ingredients for his recipes.”
In a separate conversation with Instant Bollywood, Kajol had also spoke about managing Ajay Devgn’s intense work schedule. She had said, “Sometimes I feel like, ‘Acha hua 40 din ka outdoor hai‘, and sometimes I feel like, ‘Damn, you should have been here for this’. I have got used to it now. He is very passionate about his work.”
The celebrity couple, who are doting parents to daughter Nysa and son Yug, have shared screen space in several hit films over the years including ‘Ishq’, ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’, ‘Dil Kya Kare’, ‘Raju Chacha’, and ‘U Me Aur Hum’.
