In a moment that has reignited the long-standing debate over celebrity privacy and media boundaries, Bollywood actress Kajol was seen requesting paparazzi to stop filming during a sombre visit to designer Manish Malhotra’s home. The Indian actress arrived at the residence on Sunday to offer her condolences following the recent passing of Manish Malhotra’s mother, Sudarshan Malhotra. As Kajol made her way towards the entrance, she appeared visibly uncomfortable with the heavy presence of cameras and the gathering of photographers outside the home.

The loss within the Malhotra family occurred on March 19, when Sudarshan Malhotra passed away. Following her demise, a funeral was held on March 20 in Mumbai, which was followed by a prayer meeting. The film fraternity turned out in significant numbers to support the renowned designer during this difficult time. While Kajol visited the residence on Sunday, she had previously attended the prayer meet alongside her husband, actor Ajay Devgn, and their daughter, Nysa Devgn.

The industry’s show of solidarity has been extensive. Over the past few days, several high-profile figures have been spotted offering their support, including Karan Johar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, and Arjun Kapoor. While the presence of celebrities often draws media attention, the nature of this particular event has sparked a wave of criticism against the relentless nature of paparazzi coverage.

Footage of Kajol’s request for privacy quickly circulated on social media, prompting a flurry of reactions from users who felt the media should exercise more restraint during moments of personal grief. Many pointed out that while public figures are accustomed to being photographed during outings or promotional events, condolence visits fall into a different category that requires a higher degree of sensitivity.

One social media user commented on the situation, stating, “No, they also have their lives. Look at the moment, she has come to offer condolences after the death of Manish Malhotra's mother.” Another supporter of the actor’s stance added, “She is right. She is there to sympathise, not for an outing. If it were an outing, she may not have said anything.”
