Imran Khan is all set to make his acting comeback after 10 years with Vir Das and Aamir Khan’s ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’.
After a decade-long wait and endless speculation, actor Imran Khan is officially returning to the big screen. The confirmation came via the chaotic and hilarious announcement video for Vir Das’ film directorial debut, ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, which dropped on Wednesday. While the video focuses on a comedic skirmish between producer Aamir Khan and director-actor Vir Das, eagle-eyed fans spotted a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance by Imran Khan in the sizzle reel.

The announcement video is a meta-comedy sketch featuring Aamir Khan beating up Vir Das for making what he calls a “flop” spy film. Aamir expresses frustration over how he made “one flop film” and now everyone brings it up, only to turn his anger on Vir for making a movie that supposedly lacks decent action or a love track.
The banter is filled with self-deprecating humour. When Aamir complains that the romance involves the heroine slapping the hero, Vir quips that “everybody loves dominance in 2025”. Aamir also chides Vir for becoming an “item girl” instead of hiring one, and for claiming he made an “offbeat” film – a term Aamir says is just an excuse used in interviews. The roasting peaks when Vir Das dares to mention Aamir’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ being a flop, earning him another thrashing.
However, the skit ends with a twist: the test audience comes out clapping. Aamir immediately changes his tune, pretending all the things he criticised were actually his ideas all along.
The video concludes with a 15-second teaser of the actual film ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’. Amidst shots of Vir Das in various disguises, a wide shot reveals Imran Khan sporting long tresses and looking menacingly into the camera.
Fans immediately took to social media to celebrate the spotting. “Imran Khan back in Bollywood,” exclaimed a post on Reddit. Imran’s last big-screen appearance was in the 2015 film ‘Katti Batti’, after which he took an indefinite hiatus. One fan commented, “I'm happy he's doing a fun film and didn't force himself to have that typical male lead loverboy type comeback.”
The project serves as a reunion for the team behind the cult hit ‘Delhi Belly’ (2011), which starred Imran and Vir and was produced by Aamir. Fans were quick to notice the vibe, with one writing, “Best teaser in a long time! Delhi Belly vibes! Aamir is back.”
Even Vir Das joined the fun on social media. When a fan praised the reunion, Vir Das hilariously tweeted: “Wait…Imran is in this movie??”
