For the unversed, ‘Lakshya’ revolves around Karan Shergill, played by Hrithik Roshan, a directionless young man who finds purpose and maturity after joining the Indian Army. The story follows his transformation from a carefree individual to a determined and disciplined soldier, culminating in his heroic efforts during the Kargil War.

Preity Zinta played the role of Romila Dutta, a journalist and Karan Shergill's (Hrithik Roshan) love interest.

The soundtrack of ‘Lakshya’ was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The music played a significant role in the film's narrative, with tracks like ‘Agar Main Kahoon’, ‘Main Aisa Kyon Hoon’, and the title song ‘Lakshya’ becoming quite popular among the masses.

Despite a modest box office performance, ‘Lakshya’ received critical acclaim for its realistic portrayal of a soldier's life. It performed decently well at the box office, grossing Rs 23.39 crore in India and minting Rs 40.13 crore, but gained a cult following over the years, especially among younger audiences.

Hrithik Roshan's performance as Karan Shergill was widely praised. His portrayal of a young man's journey from aimlessness to purpose struck a chord with many.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ with Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.

Hrithik Roshan now has ‘War 2’ with Jr NTR in the pipeline. Siddharth Anand also recently confirmed Hrithik Roshan’s return in ‘Krrish 4’.
