Amitabh Bachchan Responds As Allu Arjun Calls Him His “Inspiration”

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is currently basking in the success of his recently-released film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The pan-India juggernaut has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in India in just four days and worldwide, the film has gone past the Rs 800 crore. It seems like sky is the limit for the Sukumar directorial, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Recently at a media event, Allu Arjun had spoken about how Amitabh Bachchan has always been his “inspiration”.

When asked about which actor he looks up to, Allu Arjun said, “I am the most inspired by Amitabh Bachchan. He has had a long span. I absolutely adore the mega star of the country. We have grown up watching his films, he has had a lot of impact on us in the growing years. I am an ardent fan of Amitji.”

Amitabh Bachchan has now reacted to this praise. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Big B thanked Allu Arjun for his humility.

“#AlluArjun ji .. so humbled by your gracious words .. you give me more than I deserve .. we are all such huge fans of your work and talent .. may you continue to inspire us all .. my prayers and wishes for your continued success,” he wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the 2024 blockbuster sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Co-starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, the film minted over Rs 640 crore in India.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun can be currently seen in ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The film minted Rs 141.50 crore across all languages on Sunday, the fourth day of its release. As per Sacnilk, ‘Pushpa 2’ earned Rs 85 crore on Sunday in just the Hindi language and as a result, the film has now registered the biggest single day ever in the Hindi language, beating the previous record of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.

The total nett domestic collection of ‘Pushpa 2’ stands at a whopping Rs 529.45 crore. The Hindi version has contributed Rs 285.70 crore, while the Telugu version has earned Rs 198.55 crore.

In terms of worldwide collection, the highest-grossing Indian film of all time is Aamir Khan's 'Dangal', as it minted over Rs 2500 crore after its China release. The second spot is held by Prabhas and Rana Daggubati's 'Baahubali 2', which collected Rs 1788 crore during its run. It remains to be seen if ‘Pushpa 2’ manages to beat these films.

‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is the sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 blockbuster film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil have reprised their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.

Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings have bankrolled the film. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the film’s music.
