Alia Bhatt Praises Ranveer Singh’s Old Performance But Stays Quiet On ‘Dhurandhar’ Success
As ‘Dhurandhar’ continues its extraordinary box office run, Alia Bhatt’s silence on Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster has sparked chatter online.
The Hindi film industry is currently abuzz with the massive success of the Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar’, with actors and directors across the board showering the film with high praise. However, amid this wave of appreciation, Alia Bhatt’s continued silence has become a talking point among fans, as the actress is yet to share a post or comment regarding the movie. This lack of public support has been particularly noted by social media users because Alia and Ranveer share a well-documented professional and personal history, having collaborated on major projects like Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
Their close bond was famously highlighted during a joint appearance on ‘Koffee with Karan’, where they spoke openly about their deep friendship; in fact, Alia even revealed on the show that she had shared the news of her engagement to Ranbir Kapoor with Ranveer before announcing it to the rest of the world.
While she remains quiet about his latest release, Alia did recently reflect on Ranveer’s talent during a conversation with Vogue while looking back at a photograph from the ‘Gully Boy’ premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Recalling that evening, she noted how the film received an incredible amount of love and described Ranveer as “outstanding,” emphasizing that he truly headlined the movie as the titular character and praising the “solid vibe” of the film’s music and rap that persists even today.
“That evening was the premiere and Gully Boy got a lot of love. Ranveer headlined the movie, he was the Gully Boy. He was just outstanding, like even the music and the rap, till today, I think has a solid vibe,” Alia said.
This professional admiration stands alongside a complex web of personal history within the industry, as Ranveer’s wife, Deepika Padukone, and Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor, were once a high-profile couple during the early years of their careers.
Their public breakup was a major event, with Deepika previously implying on ‘Koffee with Karan’ that infidelity had occurred during their relationship, though the two have since reconciled and delivered hit films together like ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.
As the industry watches for any sign of a shout-out from Alia, both stars are focused on their upcoming blockbusters. Ranveer Singh is already looking forward to the release of the ‘Dhurandhar’ sequel, which is slated to hit screens in March 2026, and is also set to lead Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated ‘Don 3’, with filming expected to commence next year.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is preparing for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project ‘Love and War’, an ensemble drama that will see her starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
