Watch: Alia Bhatt Channels Samay Raina Energy, Schools Fan With Recreation Of Viral 'India's Got Latent' Moment
Alia Bhatt won over the crowd after using a popular one-liner, which was first used by comedian Samay Raina.
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently brought plenty of wit and star power to a promotional event for her upcoming film ‘Alpha’. The ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress won over the crowd after using a popular one-liner, which was first used by comedian Samay Raina during the first episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’ Season 2. The incident took place during Alia’s visit to JECRC University in Rajasthan, where she was interacting with students as part of Alpha’s promotional campaign.
A video, shared by the university, shows a student asking the actor what convinced her to appear on the bold and unfiltered comedy show ‘India’s Got Latent’. As the question was being asked, another audience member interrupted with a cheeky remark, shouting, “Paisa”.
Alia burst into laughter before delivering a sharp response: “Kisne bola ye? Kisi areeb aadmi ne.” Her comeback instantly drew loud cheers and applause from the students.

The official account of India's Got Latent commented, “Too good!”
Samay Raina commented, “Killl!”
The witty remark was a callback to a viral moment from the premiere episode of 'India’s Got Latent' Season 2, where Alia appeared alongside her ‘Alpha’ co-star Sharvari. During the episode, Samay Raina had asked a contestant what women like most in men.
An audience member had similarly shouted, “Paisa!” before Samay quickly responded with the now-famous line, “Kisi gareeb aadmi ne,” effectively shutting down the sexist stereotype. The comedian was widely applauded for his response at the time.
Earlier, Alia had opened up on the experience of being on the Latent panel, saying, "We loved his special. We loved how much laughter he brings to everyone, and we had an amazing time.”
“What you watched was just one hour, but we were there for four to five hours. During those five hours, we were laughing almost the entire time. Even the device that tracks my heart rate thought I was under a lot of stress because it’s not normal to laugh that much. But it was so much fun,” she added.
On the work front, Alia is gearing up for the release of 'Alpha', the first female-led film in Yash Raj Films' expanding Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the action thriller stars Alia alongside Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, with Hrithik Roshan making a special cameo appearance.
The film joins blockbuster titles such as 'Pathaan', 'War' and the 'Tiger' franchise, and is set to hit theatres this Friday. The advance booking for the film opened on Wednesday, July 1.
