Akshay Kumar Wears Mundu While Visiting Guruvayur Temple In Kerala. See Pics, Video
Akshay Kumar was spotted wearing a traditional Mundu as he visited the Guruvayur temple while shooting for ‘Haiwaan’ with Saif Ali Khan.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who was last seen on the silver screen in ‘Housefull 5’, is currently in Kerala filming ‘Haiwaan’ with director Priyadarshan and co-star Saif Ali Khan. Taking some time off his busy schedule, Akshay Kumar paid a visit to the Guruvayur temple recently. Photos and videos from the devotional stopover quickly surfaced online, showing the actor observing local tradition in a white mundu – the garment worn around the waist – during his darshan.
In one widely shared clip, the Bollywood star stepped off a helicopter in his white mundu, waved to the gathering at the helipad and greeted them with a big smile. After an advance celebration of his September 9 birthday on site, he was escorted to the Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple, where he went shirtless for the rituals, as customs require.

According to OnManorama, Akshay Kumar’s helicopter landed at Sree Krishna College in Guruvayur. He was accompanied to the temple by Guruvayur Devaswom Board Member K. S. Balagopal and Guruvayur Devaswom administrator O. B. Arun Kumar, who facilitated the actor’s time at the religious place.
The temple outing comes amid a packed year for the star. In 2025, Akshay Kumar has already appeared in ‘Sky Force’, ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, ‘Housefull 5’, and ‘Kannappa’ – the latter featuring him in an extended cameo and marking his Telugu debut.
He is currently shooting ‘Haiwaan’, Priyadarshan’s adaptation of Mohanlal’s 2016 Malayalam thriller ‘Oppam’, with Saif Ali Khan joining him in the cast. Akshay Kumar has also completed work with Priyadarshan on a yet-to-release horror comedy titled ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
Beyond ‘Haiwaan’, the actor will reprise his beloved lawyer avatar in Subhash Kapoor’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’, which co-stars Arshad Warsi.
The third installment in the courtroom franchise is slated to hit theatres on September 19 and also features Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Annu Kapoor.
