In 2023, viewers witnessed several big box office clashes. Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ clashed with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ in August 2023. Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ released on December 1, with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ debuting in theatres on the same day. The biggest box office clash took place when Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ went up against Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in December 2023. Fans are now waiting to witness another major box office clash as Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’ is set to go up against Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’.

Both the new Hindi movies were set to release in theatres on April 10, 2024. However, several new reports are suggesting that the movies have been postponed by a day and will now have a full-scale release on April 11, coinciding with Eid 2024.

Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared an update regarding the release of ‘Maidaan’. In his tweet, he mentioned that ‘Maidaan’ will have its special previews on April 10 and the movie will have a full-scale release on Thursday (April 11).

A latest report in Bollywood Hungama also stated that now both the movies will release on April 11 and the makers will only keep paid previews on April 10.

Earlier, both the films were supposed to release on April 10. But just days before the release the makers seemed to have changed the dates. Reportedly, the reason being that Eid will be celebrated in India on April 11.

As per the Bollywood Hungama report, the tickets booked for shows before 6 pm on April 10 would be refunded.

Reportedly, ‘Maidaan’ has been passed with no cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification and has a run time of 3 hours and 1 minute. As for ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, the CBFC had directed the makers to make a few modifications and the film’s run time was also reduced to 2 hours and 44 minutes.

It was also reported by Bollywood Hungama that the makers would make ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ even crisper and cut out 8 minutes from it. With that, the run time will be 2 hours and 35 minutes.

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F, Manushi Chhillar and Sonakshi Sinha. ‘Maidaan’ is directed by Amit Sharma and it also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in important roles.
