Akshay Kumar reacted to the shocking attack on Saif Ali Khan while promoting his upcoming film ‘Sky Force’.
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, who was last seen in ‘Devara: Part 1’, continues to remain hospitalised after he was attacked by an intruder during a robbery attempt at his Bandra house last week. Saif was reportedly stabbed six times and was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he underwent multiple surgeries. The actor is now out of danger and is on the road to recovery. Recently, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar reacted to the shocking incident and called Saif “brave” for protecting his family.
During a promotional event for his upcoming film ‘Sky Force’, Akshay Kumar said, “It’s very nice that he is safe. It’s very good, we are happy. The whole industry is very happy that he is safe. And, it was very brave of him that he protected his family and hats off to him for that.”
Akshay Kumar also showed his wit on the stage as he jokingly said that if he does a film with Saif, it should be titled ‘Do Khiladi’.
“Meine uske saath ek film ki hai Main Khiladi Tu Anari lekin agli baar agar hum karenge toh banayenge film Do Khiladi,” he said.
For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar have shared screen space in films like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ and ‘Tashan’.
As per several reports, the Mumbai Police have nabbed the main accused Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir. As per news agency PTI, Mumbai Police on Tuesday took him to the actor's house to recreate the scene. He was also taken to the railway station to do the same.
Mumbai Police have alleged that the main accused is a Bangladesh national, who was staying in India after changing his name to Vijay Das.
On Monday, Saif Ali Khan's wife and actress Kareena Kapoor re-shared a now-deleted video and wrote, “Stop this now. Have a heart. Leave us alone. For God’s sake.” In the video, a few people were seen bringing toy cards into Kareena and Saif's residence.
For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan was repeatedly stabbed with a knife by the intruder inside his apartment in Bandra. The actor was later deemed "out of danger" after doctors performed multiple surgeries.
As per Hindustan Times, Saif Ali Khan's domestic help raised the alarm when the intruder gained entry into the apartment. She also sustained a minor injury to her hand during the scuffle.
Saif and Kareena, who have been married since 2012, live in the Satguru Sharan building in Mumbai's Bandra West. They are parents to two sons -- Taimur and Jeh.
