October 2026 brings a packed streaming calendar across languages and genres.

October has a streaming problem, and it is a good one: how do you make time for Karthi's returning spy, Keri Russell's latest diplomatic crisis and Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's next relationship milestone in the same month? Hindi thrillers, Tamil romance, a Malayalam box-office favourite and an Indian gangster saga share the calendar with Marvel, Korean dramas and the return of France's most charming thief. There is even a trip up Everest and a return to Camp Crystal Lake.

Here are the biggest October 2026 OTT releases, arranged by their streaming dates.

1. Sardar 2 - October 1, Prime Video

Karthi has two problems again, because he has two roles. He returns as both intelligence officer Vijay and his father, the veteran spy Sardar, in P. S. Mithran's follow-up to the 2022 Tamil hit. This time, a new threat involving the shadowy Black Dagger brings the family's espionage past crashing into its present. S. J. Suryah plays the antagonist, while Malavika Mohanan, Rajisha Vijayan and Ashika Ranganath are also in the cast. After opening in cinemas on September 10, the action thriller arrives on Prime Video on October 1, with multiple language options.

2. Dupahiya Season 2 - October 1, Prime Video

Dhadakpur had enough trouble over a missing motorbike. Now the village is getting a mobile tower, which means faster internet, faster rumours and an entirely new way for its residents to make a mess of their lives. Sonam Nair directs the second season of the Hindi comedy, written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg. Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi return, with Dinesh Lal Yadav joining the ensemble. Expect small-town ambition, online fame and the familiar pleasure of watching a simple development become everybody's business.

3. Ohh My Dog - October 1, Netflix

A missing dog is a crisis of the highest order if you are the child who loves him. Amit Rai's Hindi family drama follows young Appu's search for Momo, a journey that intersects with the disappearance of a labourer and brings adults into a story about loyalty and compassion. Pankaj Tripathi and Pavan Malhotra lead the cast alongside Maahi Rai. The film first reached theatres on August 7, 2026. Its October 1 Netflix debut offers the story a new audience at home. Keep tissues nearby if stories about children and their pets tend to get you.

4. East of Eden - October 1, Netflix

Florence Pugh steps into the formidable role of Cathy Ames in Zoe Kazan's new seven-part adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel. Set around California's Salinas Valley in the early twentieth century, the family saga brings Cathy into the orbit of brothers Adam and Charles Trask, played by Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist. Ciarán Hinds also stars. With desire, rivalry and inherited wounds running through the generations, this is the month's literary drama for viewers who like their family stories expansive and just a little dangerous.

5. Pooja Meri Jaan - October 2, ZEE5

Love turns into accusation in this Hindi crime drama. Mrunal Thakur plays Pooja, whose life is upended when an obsessive man's death leads to an allegation that she abetted his suicide. Huma Qureshi plays Sana, the lawyer drawn into her fight, with Vikram Singh Chauhan and Vijay Raaz also in the cast. Directed by Navjot Gulati, the film was completed years before its eventual release. It makes its debut directly on ZEE5 on October 2.

6. #Love - October 2, Netflix

Two rival dating-app founders agree to test their ideas about compatibility for 60 days. What could possibly go wrong when the people designing the rules start catching feelings? Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Tara opposite Arjun Das as Matthew in this Tamil romantic series directed by Balaji Mohan, with Soundarya Rajinikanth serving as showrunner and producer. The app-world premise gives the familiar opposites-attract story a contemporary twist. It is a series premiering on Netflix on October 2.

7. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit - October 2, JioHotstar

One of the season's Malayalam crowd-pleasers is heading from the big screen to the living room. In Girish A. D.'s romantic comedy, Mamitha Baiju plays Ashley, whose family's move brings her into the life of older neighbour Justin, played by Nivin Pauly. Their growing closeness has to contend with the age difference, family expectations and a neighbourhood that cannot resist an opinion. Sangeeth Prathap and Vinay Forrt also feature. Released theatrically on August 21, 2026, the film starts streaming on JioHotstar on October 2, including dubbed versions for viewers beyond Malayalam.

8. Carrie - October 7, Prime Video

October would hardly be complete without someone making high school even more terrifying. Mike Flanagan writes and directs a new eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King's ‘Carrie’, bringing its bullied teenager and her destructive telekinetic powers into a contemporary setting. Summer H. Howell takes the title role, Samantha Sloyan plays her mother and Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard round out the principal cast. The basic ingredients are familiar; the question is how Flanagan, whose horror often makes room for grief and loneliness, will handle the girl at the centre of the spectacle.

9. Animals - October 9, Netflix

Ben Affleck directs and stars in a kidnapping thriller that turns a political campaign into a family emergency. He plays a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is taken, forcing him and his wife into a ransom ordeal with secrets attached. Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun and Gillian Anderson join the cast. ‘Animals’ arrives on Netflix on October 9, the same date it is set to play in select cinemas. If election pressure was not enough for Ben Affleck's character, a race to bring his child home certainly will be.

10. Matchbox The Movie - October 9, Apple TV

An old friend reunion should involve embarrassing memories, not an international chase. In Sam Hargrave's action film, a group of childhood friends discover that one of their own is an undercover CIA agent, and suddenly their shared history comes with very current danger. John Cena leads an ensemble that includes Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris and Arturo Castro. Inspired by the Matchbox toy brand, the film debuts directly on Apple TV on October 9. Think friendship tested at the speed of a getaway car.

11. Take Charge of My Heart - October 9, Netflix

Here is a romantic-comedy meet-cute that comes with a literal electrical problem. Kim Young-kwang plays Baek Ho-rang, whose artificial heart is running out of power; Chae Soo-bin's Na Bo-bae has acquired an unusual electric touch after being struck by lightning. Their bargain could save him and help her complete a romance bucket list, provided neither gets more than they agreed to. Directed by Park Soo-won and written by Song You-chae, the Korean series begins on Netflix on October 9. It may be the month's most elaborate excuse for two people to hold hands.

12. 100 Days of Deception - October 10, Netflix

In 1930s Gyeongseong, a gifted pickpocket infiltrates the Japanese colonial government to steal secrets, only to develop feelings for the son of her intended target. Kim You-jung leads the Korean period drama alongside Park Jin-young and Kim Hyun-joo. Netflix credits Yoo In-sik, Rheu Bo-ri and Kim Youn-jin among its creators. Arriving on October 10, the series puts a dangerous undercover assignment next to a romance that could expose everything. It is a tempting pick for viewers who like their love stories tangled up with political stakes.

13. VisionQuest - October 14, Disney+

Paul Bettany's Vision has spent years being a husband, a superhero and, lately, a question about what remains of a person when memory and identity are pulled apart. Terry Matalas leads this Marvel series, with James Spader returning as Ultron and Ruaridh Mollica playing a grown-up Tommy Maximoff. Following ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’, the story traces Vision's search for himself through the artificial intelligences and relationships bound up in his past. Disney+ has announced an October 14 premiere.

14. The Diplomat Season 4 - October 15, Netflix

Kate Wyler would probably welcome one quiet week. Instead, Keri Russell's ambassador returns to a White House full of dangerous alliances, with Allison Janney as President Grace Penn, Bradley Whitford as her husband Todd and Rufus Sewell back as Kate's husband, now Vice President, Hal. Creator Debora Cahn's political thriller picks up its mix of international crisis, sharp dialogue and a marriage that can feel like another negotiation. As Grace and Hal pursue a dangerous plan involving a Russian weapon, Kate and Todd form an uneasy alliance of their own. Season four lands on Netflix on October 15.

15. Crystal Lake - October 15, Peacock (US)

Before Jason Voorhees became a horror icon, there was his mother. Linda Cardellini plays Pamela Voorhees in this Friday the 13th prequel, which returns to the camp and the drowning that shattered her life. Brad Caleb Kane serves as showrunner; William Catlett, Devin Kessler and Gwendolyn Sundstrom are also in the cast. Peacock premieres the eight-episode series on October 15 in the US. An India platform or date has not been announced, so Indian viewers should treat this as an international release to watch for rather than a confirmed local stream.

16. Tenzing - October 16, Apple TV

Everyone knows that Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached Everest's summit in 1953. Jennifer Peedom's film asks viewers to look closely at the man whose name so often comes second. Genden Phuntsok plays Tenzing, Tom Hiddleston plays Hillary, Willem Dafoe plays expedition leader John Hunt, and Thinley Lhamo and Caitríona Balfe also star. The drama explores Tenzing's ambition and his place within a British-led expedition, as well as the peril of the climb itself. It opens in select cinemas on October 9, 2026, before its Apple TV streaming debut on October 16.

17. Masterplan - October 16, Prime Video

Stanley Tucci wants to steal the Mona Lisa, and apparently the first step is getting his estranged children back together. Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo play the siblings, whose very different criminal skills could make the art heist possible if the family can survive working together. Thomas Vincent directs and co-writes the French-Italian caper. ‘Masterplan’ premieres directly on Prime Video on October 16. The painting may be priceless, but there is a good chance the most volatile thing in the room will be the family reunion.

18. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 - October 20, Netflix

Night City has claimed another crew of mercenaries. The new ten-episode anime from Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red is a standalone story in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, centred on fresh characters and a collision of revenge, redemption and spectacle. Kai Ikarashi directs, Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka write, and Nazeeh Tarsha voices the character D in the English cast. It reaches Netflix on October 20. That fresh start matters: viewers can return for the neon-soaked world without expecting a direct continuation of David and Lucy's story.

19. The Terminal List Season 2 - October 21, Prime Video

Chris Pratt returns as James Reece, whose pursuit of a conspiracy now stretches well beyond the events of season one. Inspired by Jack Carr's True Believer, the new chapter draws Reece into an international trail of intelligence secrets and old allegiances. Tom Hopper joins as Raife Hastings, with Constance Wu returning as Katie Buranek; Dar Salim and Gabriel Luna are among the other cast members. David DiGilio remains writer and showrunner. Prime Video releases season two on October 21, bringing military action and a very personal reckoning back into the same mission.

20. Where's Wanda? Season 2 - October 21, Apple TV

The disappearance that started this German dark comedy has not left the Klatt family in peace. Wanda is back, but she is found standing over a dead body, sending her parents on a frantic hunt for the real killer. Heike Makatsch and Axel Stein return as Carlotta and Dedo, with Lea Drinda as Wanda and Leo Simon as Ole. Created by Oliver Lansley, the series follows the family's habit of investigating things that might have been better left alone. Season two starts on Apple TV on October 21, offering another reminder that suburbia can hide an astonishing number of secrets.

21. Nobody Wants This Season 3 - October 22, Netflix

Joanne and Noah have made it past the initial question of whether this relationship can work. Now Kristen Bell's podcaster and Adam Brody's rabbi face the less glamorous, more revealing business of building a shared life. Erin Foster created the romantic comedy, with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan steering the new season; Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn return as the people whose own relationships are anything but settled. The ten-episode third season arrives on Netflix on October 22. Expect flirtation, family interference and the real test of love: moving boxes.

22. Lupin Part 4 - October 23, Netflix

Keeping Assane Diop in prison might be harder than catching him. Omar Sy returns as the French gentleman thief in eight new episodes, with Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy and Soufiane Guerrab among the returning cast. George Kay created the series in collaboration with François Uzan. Years after Assane surrendered, a copycat appears to be pulling off museum thefts in his name, dragging him toward another impossible escape and another question about whom he can trust. All eight episodes arrive on Netflix on October 23.

23. The One About Matthew Perry - October 27, Netflix

Matthew Perry's story cannot be reduced to Chandler Bing, however beloved the character remains. Directed by Mary Robertson, this three-part documentary draws on the recollections of people close to the actor, including his sister Mia Perry Bowick and friend Roger Castillo, while revisiting his career, struggles with addiction and efforts to help others. It premieres on Netflix on October 27. The title may nod to ‘Friends’, but the subject is the person behind the punchlines and the life beyond the sitcom.

24. Akka - October 30, Netflix (reported date)

An empire run by women faces a threat it did not anticipate in this 1980s-set Indian gangster series. Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte lead the story of rival power and a formidable sisterhood in the fictional South Indian town of Pernuru, with Tanvi Azmi also in the cast. Dharmaraj Shetty writes and directs the Yash Raj Entertainment production. October 30 has been reported as its Netflix premiere date, but Netflix has not formally announced that date as of September 30. Keep this one pencilled in until the streamer confirms it.

25. Nocturne - October 30, Apple TV

What happens when the best way to catch a killer is to rely on somebody who knows him far too well? Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz lead this crime thriller as detective Jonah and FBI agent Saga, opposite Stephen Graham as a murderer who may hold the key to stopping another threat. Bill Camp also stars. Rowan Joffé created the adaptation of Lars Kepler's novel, with John Hlavin developing and running the series. The first two episodes arrive on Apple TV on October 30, followed by weekly installments.

26. Apocalypse Z: New World - October 30, Prime Video

The apocalypse is not over merely because some survivors have found an island. This Spanish-language follow-up to Apocalypse Z takes the fight against a fast-spreading virus to the Canary Islands, where refuge is fragile and a journey back to the mainland promises fresh danger. Carles Torrens directs, with Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, José María Yazpik, Mónica López and Berta Vázquez in the ensemble. The film premieres directly on Prime Video on October 30. If October's cosy romances have made you too comfortable, this is a suitably grim way to end the month.

From Dhadakpur's new mobile tower to Night City's new mercenaries, October's streaming calendar keeps finding new ways to complicate people's lives. Start with whichever world you most want to enter. With this many returns and debuts, the real challenge will be finding a free evening.
