Stand-up comedian and 'Bigg Boss 17' winner Munawar Faruqui has apologised for a joke that offended several fans on social media. For the unversed, Munawar Faruqui, who recently got married to makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala, was slammed by netizens over a video of him making a controversial statement about Konkani people at a show. During the interaction with the crowd, Munawar had said, "Konkani log c** banate hai." In the latest entertainment news, Munawar Faruqui has now apologised for the same. In the video statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Munawar Faruqui expressed regret for hurting people's sentiments.

"I have noticed that some people are getting hurt over my clip and as a comedian, I don’t want to hurt anyone," he said.

"Maine jispe joke kiya tha wo logon ne bhi bahut enjoy kiya tha show. Show pe bhi sab log the, Marathi log the, Muslim log the, Hindu log the," he added.

Speaking further, Munawar said, "But when we see such things on the internet, and we notice it, we understand the issue. I want to apologise and say sorry to all. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra.”

Recently, Munawar Faruqui was spotted in the city and was congratulated by the paparazzi on his second wedding. Upon being congratulated, Munawar smiled and said "thank you". 

He was also seen giving a box of sweets to a few shutterbugs. Recently, Mehzabeen had also shared an Instagram story of Munawar performing on stage. 

On the work front, Munawar is all set to make his acting debut with a project titled 'First Copy'.
