The reunion took place on Wednesday in Mumbai on the sets of the popular reality show ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment Season 3’. What began as a typical day of filming turned into a viral sensation as paparazzi captured the trio sharing a warm, emotional hug, signalling that the “vanvaas” of their relationship is finally over.

Sunita Ahuja, known for her sharp wit and candid personality, didn't shy away from addressing the gravity of the moment. As she posed with Krushna and Kashmera, she quipped to the gathered photographers, “14 saal ke baad aaj vanvaas khatam hua hai”.
The comment, a clear reference to the length of their estrangement, was met with laughter and cheers from the paparazzi. Krushna was seen laughing loudly alongside his aunt, while Kashmera added a playful edge to the reconciliation, quipping, “Ab kisi aur ka shuru hoga”. Sunita further added to the banter by saying, “Kis kis ki jalegi, bhagwan hi jane”.
Krushna Abhishek revealed that the meeting was a complete surprise, stating that they had no prior knowledge that Sunita would be joining the show that day. He expressed deep gratitude for her appearance, noting that this public reunion should finally silence the rumours and speculations that have plagued their family for the last several years.
The feud between Krushna and his aunt Sunita dates back significantly, with tensions reaching a boiling point around 2016. The rift initially sparked over a joke Krushna made on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, which reportedly offended Govinda and Sunita. The situation escalated further when a tweet from Kashmera Shah – referring to "people who dance for money" – was interpreted by Sunita as a direct dig at her husband.
Over the years, the conflict played out across various media platforms. Accusations flew from both sides, with Krushna alleging that Govinda did not visit his children while they were in the hospital, and Govinda publicly labelling his nephew a liar. The distance between the families was so stark that Sunita notably skipped the wedding of Krushna’s sister, Arti Singh, earlier in 2024, despite Govinda and his son Yashvardhan making a brief appearance.

Adding complexity to the feud were Govinda’s own statements. In past interviews, the legendary actor alleged that Sunita and Krushna were being "used" in a conspiracy against him. He suggested that writers on Krushna’s television programs were intentionally crafting lines to insult him, and he had warned Krushna about being manipulated. Govinda described himself as a "steady person" who was often confused by the fluctuating attitudes of his younger family members.
Despite these heavy allegations, Krushna has maintained a respectful stance towards his uncle. In recent statements, he emphasised that he views Govinda as a legend and chooses to interpret his uncle's comments positively rather than sarcastically.
The ice began to melt recently when Sunita Ahuja spoke with Pinkvilla, confirming her change of heart. She questioned how long she could stay angry with her kids and stated that she no longer wished to hold grudges when everyone is happy in their own space. “I only want to give blessings to all the kids; they are like my own,” she had noted.
With the trio now twinning in coordinated outfits and laughing together on national television, it appears the Ahuja and Abhishek families are ready to write a new, more harmonious chapter. As the cameras stopped rolling on the ‘Laughter Chefs’ set, one thing was clear: the longest-running drama in Bollywood's extended family tree has finally reached a happy ending.
