Actor and singer Amit Tandon has sparked a storm after taking a direct shot at legendary playback singer Udit Narayan. In a no-holds-barred interview with Filmymantra Media, Amit Tandon slammed the veteran singer for allegedly kissing female fans during a concert, bluntly calling him a “horny old man.” While he admitted to being a fan of Udit Narayan’s singing, he said such behaviour can’t be ignored. Amit Tandon didn’t stop there as he also took a swipe at Udit’s son, singer and host Aditya Narayan, branding him a “spoilt brat”.
Amit Tandon said, “I love his singing but I just have to say he's a horny old man. I don't know. Is that okay to say that? I mean, wohi hai, kisi ne line maari aur unhone line puri khich di. That's all it is. Fans do this with you. I also have shows where people try to get close, but it depends on you how much you allow them. This thing needed to be limited. If I were a guy and my girlfriend or wife tried to take a photo on stage and something like that happened, I would have beaten him a lot.”
He added, “But I respect him a lot as a singer, and I’m sure the atmosphere at that time was something like that. Still, it’s very important for us to set some limits for ourselves. Ek dayra rakhe.”
During the same interview, Amit Tandon was also asked about Udit Narayan's son, who is known for his public outbursts. Recently, Aditya had thrown a mic during a concert.
Answering the question, Amit Tandon said, “I have no qualms in saying that it was unprofessional and a reflection of a spoilt attitude. Of course, I don’t know him personally, and he might just be a good person. But from the visuals that are doing the rounds, I think it is a very ‘bigda hua’ attitude.”
For the unversed, the entire Udit Narayan controversy erupted in February 2025 after a video emerged online, in which Udit Narayan was seen returning kisses to a female fan as he sang his popular 1990s song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ from Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon-starrer ‘Mohra’.
When a fan got close to the singer to take a selfie, Udit Narayan titled his head to kiss her on the lips.
Speaking about the incident with Bollywood Hungama, Udit Narayan had said, “Why would I do something now, at this stage of my life when I have achieved it all? There is a deep pure and unbreakable bond between my fans and I. What you saw in the so-called scandalous video was a manifestation of the love between my fans and I. They love me. I love them back even more.”
“Do you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? In fact, I am laughing as I talk to you. It is not something sleazy or secret. It is there in the public domain. My heart is pure. If some people want to see something dirty in my act of pure affection, then I feel sorry for them. I also want to thank them. Because now they’ve made me even more famous than I already was,” he added.
