IPL 2024: Apparently this entire prank was orchestrated by none other than MS Dhoni himself.

It is fair to say that MS Dhoni enjoys a god like status in Tamil Nadu due to his association with Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The former India wicketkeeper-batter has led CSK to five IPL title wins. It is being expected that the ongoing IPL 2024 season is MS Dhoni's swansong, and the fans just want to make the most of limited Dhoni appearances with the bat in hand. Over the last couple of seasons, MS Dhoni has been batting lower down the order, and fans have not able to witness the batting prowess of the former India captain.

However, in a big surprise, MS Dhoni was promoted up the batting order by the CSK think-tank during the CSK vs KKR IPL 2024 game on Monday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, also known as Chepauk.

Dhoni was promoted up the order with CSK needing just three runs to win off 19 balls. However, a video is now going viral on social media, which showcases Ravindra Jadeja playing a prank on the entire Chepauk crowd during the CSK vs KKR match on Monday.

After Shivam Dube was dismissed by KKR pacer Vaibhav Arora, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja marched out of the dressing room, towards the dugout, indicating that he is coming out to bat. However, this was just to tease the fans, and he was seen smiling, as he made his way back to the dressing room.

It was then that Dhoni made his way to the main playing area.

Speaking about the CSK vs KKR IPL 2024 clash, the former ended up winning the contestant with seven wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 1 off 3 balls.

Earlier, KKR was restricted to 137/9 by CSK, owing to a three-wicket hauls by Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande. Thanks to this performance, Jadeja was also named as Player of the Match.

During the CSK vs KKR post-match presentation, the host broadcaster asked Jadeja if he has been given a title by the franchise like MS Dhoni is called 'Thala' and Suresh Raina is called 'Chinna Thala'.

To this, Jadeja said, "My title hasn't yet been verified, hopefully they'll give me one."

Moments later, CSK responded on social media with a post, saying, "Verified as Cricket Thalapthy."

With this win, CSK are now placed at the fourth spot in the points table with 6 points from 5 games. The side will next take on Mumbai Indians on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium.
