However, the 42-year-old is gearing up to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming latest edition of the premier T20 tournament.
In the latest trending news, MS Dhoni has joined the CSK camp to prepare for the upcoming tournament, which begins on March 22. The tournament opener will be played between CSK and Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The clip which was posted on Tuesday night, has already garnered more than 2.3 million views and this just shows the popularity of Dhoni, who is fondly referred as 'Thala' in Chennai.

For the unversed, MS Dhoni is one of the most successful IPL captains as he has won the title five times with CSK (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023.
Last year, CSK had defeated Gujarat Titans in the final to win the IPL for the fifth time. It needs to be seen whether the franchise manages to defend their title this year.
Recently, MS Dhoni was seen in Jamnagar as he attended the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. At the celebrations, he was seen interacting with the likes of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan.
Thala was also seen interacting with actress Janhvi Kapoor. Dhoni had attended the bash with his wife Sakshi.
