It's official! After days of speculation, Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirmed that she is indeed expecting her first child with her husband, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru. Last weekend, several media outlets reported that Samantha was pregnant, but the actress and her partner remained silent. However, just a few days later, Samantha confirmed the rumours, saying she is planning to take a maternity break. On Wednesday, Samantha attended the success meet of her latest release 'Maa Inti Bangaaram' and midway through the event, she addressed the burning chatter, confirming the news of her pregnancy.
The Indian actress shared the news during an event in Hyderabad. Speaking to the media at the event, Samantha revealed that she plans to take a break from acting for a while after wrapping up her current projects.
“Sorry guys, one more small gap and then I will be back. I know I have to take maternity leave now. But I am very happy,” Samantha said.
As soon as Samantha made the announcement, the rest of the attendees congratulated her, and the actress then thanked everyone for their wishes, expressing gratitude for their constant love and support. Raj Nidimoru was also spotted seated beside Samantha as she confirmed the happy news, smiling as she shared the development.

Last weekend, eagle-eyed fans noticed the actress flaunting a baby bump. It was then that the internet started speculating about a potential pregnancy. According to several reports, Samantha is in her first trimester and is due in December this year.
Samantha and Raj had tied the knot at the Linga Bhairavi temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December 2025. The private ceremony was only attended by close family members and friends.
Speaking of Samantha's latest release 'Maa Inti Bangaaram', the film has received positive reviews and is also earning a respectable amount at the box office. The Telugu release earned Rs 2.50 crore on Wednesday, the sixth day of its release, taking the total six-day collection to Rs 33.20 crore in India. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 55.71 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Before the film's release, Samantha and Raj also visited the Tirumala temple with the film's team to seek blessings.
