The makers unveiled the first look of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1’.

The much-awaited update regarding 'Kantara' prequel is finally here! The makers of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara' have confirmed that the prequel is titled 'Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1’. In the latest entertainment news, the makers unveiled the first look of the upcoming Kannada film on Monday, and fans just cannot keep calm. Hombale Films shared the first look of the upcoming film on X (formerly Twitter).

Taking to X, Hombale Films wrote, "Step into the land of the divine. Presenting #KantaraChapter1 First Look &  #Kantara1Teaser in 7 languages."

The teaser says, "During the reign of Kadambas, a legend was born." It has also been confirmed that 'Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1' will be releasing in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, English, Bengali, Malayalam, and Kannada. 

For the unversed, 'Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1’ has been written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself.

Earlier in March 2023, the makers had revealed that 'Kantara' will be having a prequel which will explore the events first introduced in the film.

"On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi & New Year, we are delighted to announce that the writing for the second part of #Kantara has begun. We can't wait to bring you another captivating story that showcases our relationship with nature. Stay tuned for more updates," the post read.

Talking about 'Kantara' which released in theatres in 2022, the film grossed over Rs 400 crore globally. In Karnataka, it emerged as the highest grossing film of all time. 

Besides Rishab Shetty, ‘Kantara’ also starred Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty. 

‘Kantara’, which translates to mystical forest, followed the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe's people with a king in 1870 in exchange for happiness. 

Many years later, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the land back, he dies due to the wrath of Bhoota.
