For her latest outing, birthday girl Mouni Roy slipped into a black sheer saree from Baeli by Anu, creating a monochrome moment that was equal parts timeless and sensual. Taking to Instagram, the Bollywood actress shared jaw-dropping photos of herself in the black saree.

The lightweight, translucent fabric gave the drape an airy quality, while its almost fuss-free body kept the attention firmly on its texture and silhouette. A delicate scalloped trim ran along the edge, adding subtle definition without interrupting the minimalist aesthetic. The pallu featured a more elaborate black lace detail towards the end, bringing a romantic finish to the otherwise pared-back number. Draped traditionally around her waist with the sheer pallu falling over one shoulder, the saree offered a modern take on classic all-black dressing.

Mouni Roy paired it with a matching black sleeveless blouse featuring broad straps and a structured, gently curved neckline. The back dipped low and was finished with slim tie-up strings and tassel details. With no contrasting colour or heavy embellishment competing for attention, the coordinated blouse allowed the sheer saree to remain the hero of the look.
The Bollywood actress introduced a traditional counterpoint through oversized gold-toned chandbali earrings. Their intricate, layered design and dangling details instantly dressed up the otherwise understated saree. She kept the neck bare, letting the dramatic earrings command attention, while rings offered the only other visible jewellery.
Mouni Roy’s beauty game dialled up the drama. Her long dark hair, with warm brown highlights through the lengths, was styled in voluminous cascading waves with a centre part. Across the photographs, she alternated between sweeping it over one shoulder and gathering portions towards the back.
Her makeup centred on sculpted brows, dramatic winged black eyeliner, smoky eyeshadow and thick lashes. A smooth, luminous base, softly contoured cheeks and brown glossy lips completed the look.
