The monsoon romance trope is getting a grand, old-school revival. With the drop of ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’, the latest track from the upcoming family entertainer ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’, director Sooraj R. Barjatya officially ushers in a new era of his signature cinematic universe. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana – stepping into the iconic shoes of Barjatya’s beloved “Prem” character – and Sharvari, the newly released music video is a masterclass in quintessential Rajshri tropes, blending large-scale familial warmth with crackling on-screen chemistry.

Visually, ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’ immediately establishes a nostalgic vibe. Set against the backdrop of a sprawling, multi-tiered traditional ancestral home during a heavy downpour, the video captures the thrill of a secret, domestic romance.

Check out the music video here:

Ayushmann Khurrana, sporting a breezy pastel blue kurta, and Sharvari, luminous in a classic yellow saree, trade flirtatious glances across the rain-drenched courtyard. Rather than relying on overly complex choreography, the song leans heavily on their infectious screen presence and playful acting. At one point, Ayushmann Khurrana even incorporates a vacuum cleaner into a goofy, endearing solo dance routine – a quirky touch that perfectly bridges his own signature everyman charm with Sooraj Barjatya’s clean, slice-of-life romance.

The narrative of the music video thrives on the timeless Bollywood trope of sneaking around a house full of elders. Sharvari is seen navigating daily household chores, from playfully wiping down glass doors to working in the kitchen, all while exchanging stolen smiles with Prem. The camera work beautifully highlights this intimate game of hide-and-seek, utilizing doorways, wooden pillars, and kitchen counters to frame their secret romance while older family members remain blissfully unaware nearby.

It is a carefully orchestrated sequence that culminates in a classic Rajshri staple: a massive, joyous family feast at a long dining table, followed by a fleeting but spectacular glimpse of a grand wedding sequence, with the lead pair decked out in heavily embellished traditional bridal wear.

On the sonic front, ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’ is an instant earworm that perfectly complements the video's visual palette. Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, who is helming the musical landscape for the film, the track leans into a rich, melodic nostalgia. The playback magic is brought to life by Shreya Ghoshal alongside Keshav Anand. Paired with Mayur Puri's lyrics, the composition keeps the mood light and deeply romantic, capturing the essence of finding new love amidst the monsoon.

‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’ marks Ayushmann Khurrana’s very first collaboration with Sooraj Barjatya, and this song proves that he is more than ready to carry the legacy of the ultimate Hindi cinema green-flag hero. Produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films, the film is slated for a theatrical release on November 27, 2026.

If this track is any indication of the final product, audiences are in for a thoroughly charming, visually rich treat that proves old-school romance never truly goes out of style.
