The makers of the upcoming film ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’ have released a new music video titled ‘Jhumka Patola’, featuring lead stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari. Directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya and backed by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films, the three-and-a-half-minute track plays out against the backdrop of a traditional joint-family celebration, focusing on domestic warmth, playful teasing, and intergenerational bonding. The music video opens on a quiet, intimate note inside a softly lit dressing room adorned with candles.

Sharvari, dressed in an embroidered lehenga, sits in front of a mirror as Ayushmann Khurrana’s character walks in wearing an off-white kurta-pyjama paired with a red-and-gold patterned waistcoat. Sitting beside her, he opens a small packet and presents her with a pair of heavy, traditional gold jhumkas. As Sharvari takes the earrings and admires them with a smile, an on-screen title card labels the gesture a “Gift of Love”, setting the premise for the rest of the song.

From the quiet bedroom exchange, the visuals transition into a spacious, festively decorated courtyard illuminated by fairy lights, earthen diyas, candles, and marigold garlands. Wearing the new jhumkas and carrying a bright pink patola drape, Sharvari steps out to show off her gifts to the women of the household. What follows is a lively, female-led dance sequence in the courtyard as Sharvari drapes the patola cloth over her head and celebrates her partner’s gesture alongside the other women, who are dressed in vibrant pink, yellow, and green sarees and lehengas.

Throughout the first half of the song, Ayushmann mostly observes the festivities from the sidelines, exchanging smiles and glances with Sharvari from the corridor before walking into the courtyard. As the women perform synchronized choreography, the men of the family sit together on the courtyard steps, watching the performance and clapping along. The energy picks up when the women pull their dupattas over their faces like veils to dance in front of the seated men. Shortly after, Ayushmann and another young man from the family jump into the fray, playfully wrapping the women's pink dupattas around their own necks and matching the hip-swaying dance steps.
Midway through the track, the video shifts its focus to the dynamic between the bride and her mother-in-law. In a playful sequence, the women of the house surround Ayushmann and tease the mother-in-law through the lyrics, pointing out that while the bride received a "Jhumka Patola," everyone else only got empty praise, jokingly warning the mother-in-law that her son's priorities have changed.
Rather than playing into traditional household friction, the video takes an affectionate turn: the mother-in-law smiles, extends her hand, and calls Sharvari over. Sharvari sits by her side and rests her head in her lap as the two share a warm embrace, followed by an on-screen graphic that crosses out the word "Saas" (mother-in-law) and replaces it with "Maa" (mother).
In the final stretch of the song, Sharvari dedicates her verses to both her mother-in-law and Ayushmann. The lead pair eventually comes together in the centre of the courtyard, with Ayushmann holding his hands over his head to mimic a veil as he performs the hook step alongside Sharvari and the family. Before concluding, the video also weaves in a brief emotional shot of Sharvari hugging an older woman with teary eyes, as well as quick glimpses of a grand wedding ceremony where the lead pair is seen in golden bridal and groom attire wearing garlands.
Billed as a Himesh Reshammiya musical, ‘Jhumka Patola’ is sung by Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics penned by Sonia Kapoor Reshammiya. The song is produced, mixed, and mastered by Suhas Parab, Subhash Parab, and Priyesh Vakil, while the courtyard dance routine is choreographed by Shabina Khan. ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’ is scheduled to release in cinemas on November 27, 2026.
