'Creed III' star Jonathan Majors has some bad news coming his way as he has been arraigned on several assault and harassment charges, following his arrest. The Manhattan's DA office has pressed the charges as the unnamed female accuser in her complaint claimed that the defendant did strike her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear, reported Variety.
In her complaint, she has also claimed that Jonathan Majors put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.
For the unversed, Jonathan Majors was arrested on Saturday in an alleged domestic dispute. He was then charged with several counts of assault in the third degree, three counts of attempted assault in the third degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count harassment in the second degree.
The DA's office has also said that a judge released Majors on his own recognisance and granted a limited order of protection, reported Variety.
Jonathan Majors, 33, was taken into custody on Saturday after police said that they responded to a 911 call at a Chelsea apartment.
The defence lawyer of Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors then argued that the 'Creed III' star is "completely innocent".
“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” criminal defence lawyer Priya Chaudhry said as per Variety.
“We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently," she stated further.
The actor was last seen in 'Creed III' and 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'.
