“Not Running Away From...”: Travis Kelce Talks About “Scrutiny” As He Opens Up On Dating Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce, who has been in the limelight for dating Taylor Swift, recently got candid and spoke about his relationship with the Grammy-winning singer.
NFL star Travis Kelce has been constantly in the limelight for his dating rumours with Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift. The 34-year-old NFL star recently opened up about their relationship during an interview with WSJ (Wall Street Journal) Magazine. In the interview, Travis Kelce also revealed which one of Taylor Swift’s songs is his favourite. He admitted that he has “never dated anyone” like Taylor Swift while he lauded her for “enjoying life” despite the “scrutiny” she gets.
Travis Kelce said that he has no intention of running away from the “scrutiny” that has recently come his way after dating Taylor Swift.
Travis Kelce told the WSJ, “Obviously I've never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them. I've never dealt with it. But at the same time, I'm not running away from any of it.”
Travis Kelce isn't intimidated by the attention on them. He added that Taylor Swift handles fame quite well, saying, “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she's just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”
In the interview, Travis Kelce also discussed his first time meeting Taylor Swift.
Opening up about their first date, the NFL star said, “When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking. So I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”
Earlier, during a podcast, Travis Kelce admitted to being interested in Taylor Swift and also attended her Arrowhead Stadium concert in Kansas City in July 2023. “There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’” Kelce said. He added, “I had somebody playing Cupid.”
Travis Kelce revealed that after his efforts, Taylor Swift herself texted him. He said, “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”
Travis Kelce called Taylor Swift both “hilarious” and “a genius,” in the interview. He also revealed that he and the singer share a similar outlook on family and work.
“Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” he said.
He added, “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”
Earlier this month, Travis Kelce flew to Argentina to see the singer on the second night of the international leg of her Eras Tour 2023.
