And his Chennai concert turned extra special when none other than Oscar-winning music maestro AR Rahman joined him on stage. The duo delivered an electrifying mashup of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ and AR Rahman’s iconic ‘Urvasi’, leaving the crowd in awe. But just as the magic unfolded, a faulty mic almost stole the moment. Did it ruin the performance? Not at all – Ed Sheeran came to AR Rahman’s rescue, and the night remained unforgettable.
Ed Sheeran later took to his Instagram account and shared a video of himself performing with AR Rahman. He captioned the post, “What an honor @arrahman.”

The video began with Ed Sheeran introducing AR Rahman to the audience as he shouted, “Will you make some noise for AR Rahman?” and the crowed responded with thunderous applause.
Soon after the video was shared by Ed Sheeran online, several social media users reacted to it. One user wrote, “We got an AR Rahman and Ed Sheeran Collab before GTA 6.”

Ed Sheeran, who is currently on the India leg of ‘The Mathematics (-=÷x) Tour’, met Rahman and his son AR Ameen ahead of his Chennai performance.
Ameen, also a singer, shared a series of pictures with Ed Sheeran and AR Rahman on his Instagram page on Tuesday, tagging Ed Sheeran in the caption with many heart emoticons.
Ed Sheeran will wrap up his India tour on February 15 with a grand performance in Delhi-NCR. The concert, organized by AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live, promises to be an epic conclusion to his India stint.
